Hey all I’m after a bit of advice ftm here 🤷🏼♀️ I’ve started the whole weaning thing and my daughter has a really hard time swallowing she keeps spitting everything out and heaving and nearly chocking is this normal? I’m doing both feeding and letting her do it herself thing tia x
My rayhan was like that he only started eating properly at 8 months. It happens all babies are different. He still chokes at times and doesn't eat wafers fruit pieces ect.
Alot of weaning in the early days is just them getting use to food, learning to eat etc. Babies have a natural gag reflex, which you'll be experiencing here. So don't expect them to eat a whole bowl and most will end up spat out. NHS says don't wean till 6months as food to early it can damage there stomachs, but your her mum and you know when she's ready.
@staceybarleycorn hmm in the nicest way possible babies are interested in everything. If you were holding a glass of wine I'm sure she would want it 😂 I think maybe hold off for a bit and start again at 6 months. I know it's a guideline but you will be surprised at how much she will come on in those few weeks x
They do tell you not to wean babies until 6 months but that’s just seems like she’s not ready at all. I would give up the weaning until at least 6 months x
@mum2sky, she seems really interested in food and takes it off the spoon just doesn’t know what to do next her tongue spits it out she’s just over 5 months x
Thanks everyone I think I’ll stick with it as she seems to like it and practice makes perfect I guess, I only do one meal a day atm and she still has all her bottles so it can’t hurt just relieved now I know it’s normal lol x
