@n_favors when I was getting 2 oz each time I pumped they gave him that fortified with neosure but once I stopped producing I gave him just that and he'd always throw up...hes on Similac sensitive and home made formula rn. He's been doing better but still in pain most the time
@rachokai I didn't have the luxury of choosing to breast feed. My milk dried up even tho I tried EVERYTHING to make it stay. There are women who would do anything to breastfeed but don't have a choice about it. So when other women practically rub it in everyone's faces that "I make enough to feed my baby but someone please tell me how I can dry up my milk just cuz" yeah...im gunna judge a little. I wasn't ever able to breast feed but I pumped for about 3 weeks even tho I barely got anything out of.
If you don't have a reason then it's selfish to your baby let alone rubbing it in other women's faces and being selfish in that way
@babymomma2018, well I guess you should hope you don’t run into any road bumps then since it’d be oh so selfish of you to stop. One month into breastfeeding is a little early to be making a judgement about every mom who stops. Best of luck to you
@babymomma2018, so is it selfish if someone chooses to never breastfeed? What’s the difference between never doing it and doing it for awhile and choosing to stop? At least their baby got milk for that time..
@rachokai I do know her situation and none of those things apply. And I couldn't care less if you breastfeed or not but for this lady, shes so proud of herself that she's getting her milk dried up and she has no reason for it...just cuz. THAT'S selfish
You have no idea peoples situations. Some people are on antidepressants or anti anxiety medications that they can’t take while breastfeeding, and the benefit of mom getting the meds outweighs the benefit of the baby getting breastmilk. Or maybe the struggle of breastfeeding is causing mom too much stress and interfering with her ability to be a good mother. You really shouldn’t say it’s selfish when you don’t know their situation, just because you personally support breastfeeding.
@ljsmommy22 those are very rare and tragic instances. 😔The lady I'm referring to is perfectly fine, has enough milk, baby loves it and is growing and she just wants to stop just cuz. I personally find it selfish bc there are alot of women who would do anything to be able to breast feed and don't have a choice...to each their own but some women seem so proud to dry up their supply and that's what kills me...
I had a friend who didn't because she was sexually abused and it made her uncomfortable so she dried her milk up and formula feed. I also have another friend whose baby literally hates her milk so there's different reasons I think. Me personally I want to switch my son to formula but I feel guilty because he loves it.
@babymomma2018 some people just don't want to do it. I find nothing wrong with it. Everyone is different if everyone was the same the world would be a boring place. What others want to do isn't what others want to do. I don't see anything wrong with it as long as their feeding their babies
