I had the breathable mesh liner! It was great for keeping his arms and legs out of the bars, at least until he got older and would push it down in his sleep.

Have you considered a breathable bumper for the crib? I saw a mom on here with one and it was almost transparent, maybe that'll help...(:

@mommy2be3 I personally can't do playpens because my arms are too short so I have to literally like lean over and almost drop him a little bit to put him in there lol

Poor baby. Does she have a playpen? That's what my baby sleeps in currently. It might help.
