This may be a dumb question but what are allergy medicines safe while breastfeeding? I’m new at this so lol

I believe Benadryl is okay but don't quote me. Just an FYI, antihistamine can affect your supply negatively.

Benadryl will make your child sleepy though, well it did mine while taking it and breastfeeding

@nerdymommyplus2, I was just reading that Allegra is the best, I was thinking Benadryl would make him super sleepy. But all he does right now is sleep. I’m most likely going to try to find something with no antihistamine in it just to be safe.

You might try an inhaled med like Flonase vs an oral med.

@samg., are inhaled medicines safer than oral while nursing?

Flonase is safer as not as much is passed into the Breast milk as say Benadryl would.
