Im in a tough situation. Im 9 weeks pregnant and i work at a group home with 3 autistic girls they also have other disabilities there ages 16, 18, and 20 and they have off and on behaviors were they will attack staff fight kick bite everything. Ive had two incidents already with them trying to attack me since ive been pregnant. Idk what to do i love my job so much but i love my baby more and i cant be fighting these girls and putting my child in harms way. What should i do?? I'd hate to have to quit god knows i need the money.. Advise pleassseeeee
@zoeyriley31214 omg i am so sorry to here that thats terrible. Yes its extremely scary i will probably stick it out also because i really need the money but i will definitely be looking into other options as well i wish u nothing but the best and a healthy delivery im glad u and baby are ok enjoy your break and get lots of rest. U deserve it☺
@shantellmiles06, I work for a school district in the behavioral modification for special needs children and young adults I got attacked several times so far in my pregnancy once where I was hospitalized when I was about 17 weeks I am now 37 weeks but I asked for them to put me on a desk job in request of my doctor since I was seriously injured I’ve been working for the government for 12 years as a great employe with no issues and they refused and our job does have a clause to assist with workers comp cases and find positions to put u in so we can still work and the superintendent denied me .... leave big story short I am still working (thank god we are on spring break for the next two weeks ) but I feel ur pain it’s a very difficult decision to make I had to keep working since I have to provide insurance for my daughter and assist with our mortgage with my fiancé I wish u the best and hope u can have a better pregnancy than I have it has been 9 months of stress and so sad I haven’t been able to enjoy my first natural pregnancy (my daughter is adopted )
@momma2twinies @_sheriee its hard because its a private owned business so there is not other departments there's3 houses with all different kind of kids that all have the same behaviors. The only other positions are in office and those have been filled for years with the same staff i could never get in there.
I'd talk to HR and see if they could move you to a different position. Explain why and go with proof of pregnancy
@zoeyriley31214 your welcome
