@mommy_tojay, it’s just that part! Once it’s in, it feels so good. Epidurals are really amazing lol.

@mommy_tojay it'll be okay! Regarding feeling your legs, you can feel them but they feel weird. Lol like they are waking up from sleep, but also can't feel them. And one side is more numb than the other! And they have to move you, left side, middle, right side, lol and it's super hard cause your legs feel so weird. Lol

@halifax6 thank you, I already don't like hospitals at all, so that's gonna be a anxiety attack for sure already... 😂

With the hours of contractions, the anxiety, and the rest of the pain, you really don't notice the epidural. I was SO scared to get it, and they do numb you up, and then it's a tad uncomfortable, but then the sense is relief is just ahhhhh 😍 lol

@mommy_tojay, yea i was asking all kinds of questions while bawling my eyes out. i spent the last month of my pregnancy with painful contractions. and the last 2 weeks were brutal. i went past my due date and the day of my last appointment before my induction date my water broke. i could barely make it down my apartment stairs. i was trying to go as long as i could before getting the epidural but honestly getting it was a life saver. i was too tense to even dilate more than 3cm. after i got it, it was smooth sailing from there. towards the end of labor i jumped from a 7 to a 9.5 in 20 minutes. i couldn’t have done it without it.

@ajs_mommy I'm planning on getting it, but my mom kind of scared me because she said that the last time she got it for my brother it hurt really bad she said, I asked if they had numbed her first before putting the injection and she said no, so i wanted to get more info on that

@mommy_tojay, of course lol. i was so scared to get it because i thought it was going to hurt, but my contractions were outweighing any kind of other discomfort i could have been having.

@mommy_tojay, the anesthesiologist does numb you before giving you the epidural. and when you first get it and it’s starting out yes lol. i couldn’t feel anything below my boobs. i could wiggle my toes which is what they ask you to do after. they make sure you can feel your contractions too so they know it’s not too much medicine. not painfully feel it. you just feel the tightening of it. i was crying so bad before i got mine and after i was all smiles. it wasn’t until towards the end where my pain came back.

@ajs_mommy so they numb you before they give you the injection? Also is it true you can't feel your legs? I'm a first time mom I don't really know much about it

the only thing i felt was the numbing medicine before the epidural. next thing i knew was i was being told to lay down and everything within 10 or so minutes was completely numb. my husband said that was the calmest i’d been in a month.
