Question: is a 6week postpartum checkup really necessary? I feel like myself again and my period has stopped.

Extremely extremely important. My best friends sister contracted an infection internally at five weeks postpartum. She felt fine, but when she was checked they found it. She ended up being hospitalized and my best friend and I helped care for her daughter until she was out of the hospital (husband was deployed.). She felt fine, but it was pretty bad.
