I know it’s not recommend to put cereal in ur baby’s formula til they 6 months old but my mom said we should do it now bc she always did n how maybe it’ll help keep my son sleep longer at night. How many of y’all did it b4 they were 6 months? Does it make a diff that he’s a preemie?

@claudia0786, yeah I guess my mom said she meant once he’s like 3 months or something. God I hope itll get better. It’s hard not having his dad rly around to help. And when he does see his dad it’s not til 8pm at night n he makes me drive to him (an hour away) and I don’t leave there til 3am and they both just sleep the whole time n I just sit there trying to make sure he doesn’t roll over on him. Sucks I need sleep!

I was going thru the same thing with my bfs family. I was a bit desperate at 3 months and cave in. She woke up even earlier for her feeding. Honestly people back then used to do all sorts of things because yea it is your baby but 1 month old is just a bit too young. It’ll get better I promise

@ecahanes, I just think it’s weird he sleeps during the day for so long but not at night.

@kri2182999, it's normal every 1.5-2 hours. Rice cereal has arsenic in...a high level actually and it contributes to obesity. Do some research and decide from there. My son woke every two hours for the first two months then it was every three hours for awhile

@bamber, really? Oh ok. The only time I get him to sleep longer at night is if I let him sleep in the swing. I also think he may have his nights n day mixed up bc during the day he sleeps anywhere from 3-4 hours before wanting food. Sometimes he can go 4 in a half but I try not to.

@ecahanes, they all say he should b sleeping longer but he wakes up at night every 1.5 to 2 hours wanting to eat. They say if I do it it’ll keep him fuller longer.

Don't even do it at 6 months. It's normal for them to wake frequently. My son just started sleeping from 730-5 a couple weeks ago. He's 8 months

1 month old is WAY too young, unless your told to do so by his pediatrician, don't do it.
