To my weitress mom's on here!
I have a question about my pay check. This is my very first time being a weitress so ik nothing about it really. Not to mention I quit after only 2 weeks bc the people I worked with was very rude and I can't handle that.
Anyways I was in training making $7.25 ph. However I did get one tip, it was my very first and only one I got bc they let me practice on a table and they man was sooo nice and understanding and gave me $100 tip! Anyways. That whole week I worked a total of 16.72 hours. The only tip I got was the $100 tip on the table that I practiced on. How lucky right? Well not really bc when I got my weekly check I only got $23 for that whole 16.72 hours! The manager is very young and immature and is ignoring my calls and texts. All I want to know is how she came up with my check bc I don't know how it works. She finally contacted me today and said there may be a mistake and she will look over it. But she don't know. "Even though she is the one who wrote it out to begin with!" It took her days to respond.

Hm, I’m not sure... I was paid min wage for 3 shifts & then was on the floor by myself as a server. I guess your best bet would be to contact them. Did you have to claim your $100 tip? Usually if you’re being paid min wage you don’t get to keep your tips. While I trained I had to give all the tips I made to the server I was training under
@mother.of.angels okay, making sure it wasn't something done "under the table". 16.72x7.25 is 121.22 and the you'd get taxes taken out of that. You are also supposed to get taxed for your tips, legally. Although, most cash tips just get pocketed and not reported. So if she reported your tip, the 23$ could have been what was left from federal /state /etc taxes. However, there should be a breakdown of that. If she doesn't give you a straight answer, you can always try to find someone higher up than her to investigate or wait until next year for your w2 lol cause you'll need that to file taxes and they have to provide you with that. Lol

I'd just go in and ask for breakdown of your paycheck. Was it like a personal check? Or is it made from the business?
@lovelily the girl whose ignoring me is who also does the payroll. But she said she is going to look into it tomorrow bc she's "busy" today. Thanks girl.
@mrssanderson see I wasn't being paid as a weitress. I was being paid as a cashier bc I was being trained and wasn't assigned any tables. They only gave me one customer to practice on and they just so happened to give me $100 tip?
They take the taxes out of your hourly. Usually my pay is only $20-30 every 2 weeks but I’m bringing home well over $100 every shift.
@mother.of.angels personally go back to your old job and ask to speak with payroll or whoever is in charge of payroll. Ask them to show you in writing the breakdown of taxes withheld from your check.
@lovelily Thank you for your response. The only thing they gave me was a check. It doesn't have any other information with it.
Do you have the part or your check where it shows what taxes were removed and what your hourly rate was? You said they told you a certain amount but you need it in writing you need to see the actual breakdown of how you were paid and what was removed.

Checked in at 4am february 1st.. started my pitocin drip at 5. I was 3cm dilated when i checked in. Things were progressing pretty slowly until my doctor broke my water at 7 am. I got my epidural done when i was 7 cm dilated, my nurse came in to check me and said baby was in plus 1 station. From there it went rather quickly, once my cervix was complete, she did practice pushes with me, i did 3 practice pushes with a few contractions and she said not to practice push anymore because baby was crow...
I really don't know how this is going to work he crys forever bc im only giving him 3 oz

But since last two days am not having good feeling....I just feel something is wrong inside wid d kid...all my symptoms r too less
Morning sickness is gone....Metallic taste of my tounge is also less....and I feel pain in my abdoman twice or thrice which is very minor though
What should i do i am very confused
Already have gone through 5 scans because of changing gynec
Just feel that untill i hear the heartbeat or see my kid i wont b ok....got sleepless nights
@mother.of.angels, because in most restaurants you can’t be paid min wage & collect tips at the same time. The $100 + what you got paid makes up what you would have gotten paid for the hours you worked.
