@shaunileist.sl, my dr explained that mirena and paragard open up different into the uterus. Look into it more. My dr now is almost positive that because I have a very small uterus, the mirena pierced my uterus as it was being inserted.
@mswedes, yes I am considering the paraguard. Do you have any idea what causes them to migrate? Is it sex or do they thin the muscle and work through or what? Haha it is like my biggest fear right now.
I just had my mirena surgically removed 2 weeks ago. It tore through my uterus and was in my pelvis. The paragard is a lot safer but I would also ask them to insert it using an ultrasound machine. I had the paragard put in while I was under and she had a camera to make sure it was in perfectly.
@bamber, that is my biggest fear! The OB just discussed it with me today and said the chances of it migrating are like 1%. I really hate to be that 1%, but I was hoping to go for a non hormonal birth control.
