How many women have had a cervical cerclage ?

It will change.. If you have an incompetent cervix you need one. No matter what number pregnancy this is.

@shay2beautiful, terrible . They won’t do a cerclage because it’s my first pregnancy . So basically she said i should sit and wait to go into labor

@shay2beautiful, they say the risk is what stops them, but the risk don’t change no matter what pregnancy you are on. It’s good they’re seeing you so early !!! I had to beg for an appointment for a week straight just to be seen at 13 weeks . But there’s only a few doctors in my state that will do it. If they don’t , I’ll have to leave my husband and my home to go to another doctor .. but I’ll be praying for you. Hopefully this is the answer for you!

@jessicaharrel03 yeah I would find another doctor. Thanks hun and this is my third pregnancy and will be my first live birth. So, they're basically trying to say they won't help you because its your first pregnancy. I've never heard of anything like that before.

@shay2beautiful, this is my first pregnancy. And it’s scary because now every time i get pregnant i have to face this .. I’m sorry for your loss, but at least they are willing to help you this go around, i was told they might not give me one because it’s my first, which is completely unfair

My doctor told me the earliest they can do it is 12 weeks. As far as I know my cervix isn't open this time around thank God. I'm going though because I lost my son last year and I was 17 weeks pregnant.

@shay2beautiful, yeah . It’s scary . They won’t do them until 13-14 weeks and mines been open for an entire week and once it gets to a certain point , they can’t do it . And I’m just scared that will happen. But I’ve been on strict bed rest for a week, haven’t even left my bedroom. I just hope he will do it . It sucks to feel hopeless . Is that why you’re going? Is your cervix open?

I heard the success rate is so high. I go and see a specialist on the 21st.

Do you have to get one?. I was going to ask this same question because my ob wants me to meet with the specialist. Its only for an evaluation to see if I'll get a preventative cerclage
