Anyone have tips for traveling with a child under one?🤗
My husband & I will be flying with our 6 month old son down to California this spring/summer(approx. 1.5-2hr flight) I don’t know what to do for his sleeping situation or what to bring with me for the flight that won’t take up too much space. 😶😶 complete newbie to flying with a baby so any and all advice will be much appreciated. ‼️

Oh, that particular flight I remember .. I put on my nursing cover before take off , got my body situation all set, for nursing, but he never woke up that flight lol.

I had to fly on 6 different flights with my baby before he was 3 months and he only made a tiny fuss on one flight ( thank god) here’s some stuff I did.... I wore comfy clothes, brought a well packed diaper bag ( but really didn’t use anything but a blanket from it).
I wore a poncho ( super easy for discrete nursing and you don’t have to pull it out or put it away.
I fed him on take off and landing and massaged the ear that wasn’t pressed against me continuously.
I’m not sure if massaging did anything but it made me feel like I was doing something to help. Normal people can chew gum to relieve elevation pressure , but babies don’t know that so sucking helps ( feeding) and I sort of pressed my finger on the little inner bit of his ear and pressed it towards his cheek to open up the ear and maybe help it pop if it needed to?
The sleeping situation was this.... I held him the entire flight, and being a tall person who was too tall to be able to comfortably hold him and rest my arm on the arm rest, I rested my arms on the folding tray for part of the time and just sucked it up the rest of the time

This was helpful as we too have a flight with babies under 6 months in about 4 weeks.

OMG! Baby wearing is a life saver while flying! The only time that they ask you to take the baby out is during flight. Plus it's super easy to discreetly nurse if you nurse.
Don't worry about liquid restrictions. They will let you bring it in the airport if it's for the babies needs.
Pack an extra outfit for you and baby in your carry-on. Also, you may want some Wal-Mart bags for if there is an accident.
I always take 8-10 diapers in my carry on and then just but a new pack when we get to our destination!
