@babykinder2018 just prewarn your midwife you have a fear of needles and she will make you as comfortable as possible. I know this doesn't help when you have a fear of needles but it's very quick and will be over before you know it. Basically what happens in your first app is she takes all your details and fills out your notes etc. She will offer you certain tests, take all your history, weigh you, measure your height, check your blood pressure and you'll have chance to ask any questions you want. Once you're appointment is done she will arrange your 12 week scan and you will get your appointment in the post. That's what happened at mine. I'm pretty sure all first midwife appointments are relatively the same regardless of where you are xx

I think I am more worried about being ask for a blood test. I am scared of needles 🙈

I'm sure everything will be fine. Are you nervous about anything in particular or is it that you don't know what to expect? My first appointment was roughly an hour long. And like @melanie-spiritmedium said all they will do is medical history, urine, bloods and blood pressure. I had mine two weeks ago. Here if you have any questions xx

What are you nervous about hun? They will run through your medical history and check your blood, blood pressure, urine etc x
