Anyone on here that receive food stamps ever get your money gradually taken away hundreds at a time?…

@kambam, no not yet. It’s my moms case and she’s called but she works nearly 24/7 so all she can do is call and they aren’t helpful at all

@motherhustler_xo, we did they said “go to a food bank place” 😒 we have one car and my mom works all the time we can’t just up and go whenever even if we do have the car

You can't be secondary on the case? You should be on there. You should try to do them yourself and get stamps without your mom.

@kambam, I’m not sure if I can be secondary I have my own cash aid case. Noah is on my case and my moms and because of that he gets kicked off his insurance ever couple of months and I have to reinstate him all the time I don’t want something like that to happen with my own benefits because I wouldn’t be able to get them back

That doesn't make any sense at all. If they increase or decrease your food stamps they always inform you either way. Ours over the years is just dwindling away because my husband's pay keeps getting better. Maybe as your mom if her pay went up?

@noahs.mommy well then her best bet is find the time to go in and find out what is going on in person. You can have a hearing if you disagree with their decision at any time.

But if you qualify for cash aid then you can always get it? Even more so if you have a child under your care. I used to be in placer county but now I'm sac. And it's way shittier. Idk I think you should go in and talk to a worker and see if you can get food stamps for both of you while still getting cash aid.

They did that to us and we got a letter like a month later. They can take up to 120 days to adjust your case. Whether it's up or down. I had them reassess our case in July and it wasn't until December that they approved an increase buy we got all the back pay. If her pay went up by $2 they are decreasing because more income is now in the house. They don't care what taxes are taken out it goes by gross. January we had $517 for 4 and now we are down to $185 for 4 because my husband pay went up

@reddroses14, she reported her $2 increase and she’s gotten $1-$2 increases before and nothing happened it’s been 4 months since they started this and we have gotten nothing

@kambam, I talked to my worker about it when I had to do annual report thing and she said no. I tried telling her that I pay for my own things and my own food and she said no because I’m not 21 and we share the same address. I’m on my moms case for food stamps too. She thinks it’s either because my dad and I don’t work or go to school or it’s because my dad isn’t going to those classes you have to do if you receive any kind of benefits. I’m exempt until December and my mom is indefinitely because of her job but my dad isn’t but he can’t go cause we only have one car
