Induction is set at exactly 39 weeks. I have to be at the hospital by 6 AM in Wednesday!!
Ladies, please share your induction stories! And how long after did you give birth?
I was induced at 40w4d and they started me on the vagina pill to make me dilate more but it didn't work very well and took forever. It was a whole day before I dilated enough for my water to break and then I just stopped. They decided to start me on pitocin and that got things moving more but I ended up needing the epidural which helped but not completely. After about 30 hours I dilated to 9.5cm but it stopped and didn't go any further. At about 35 hours I was in a lot of pain still and still couldn't dilate to 10cm and my sons head ended up getting crooked so after 36 hours of trying to have a vaginal birth, I ended up with a csection unfortunately. I'll never be induced again.
I went to my 37 week check up. I had high blood pressure and was checked for dialtation. I was at 3 cm. Already in early labor and didn’t even know it. Having contractions and couldn’t even feel them. But due to having high blood pressure my dr told me to go home and pack and head back to the hospital. I started pitocin around 7 pm on a Wednesday. It did take forever it seemed. Got the epidural at 6 cm. Started pushing around 1 am. Pushed for almost 4 hours. Gave birth at 4:41 am.
I got induced at 40 weeks 3 days. Came in at 2 am they gave me the pitocin and oxytocin fell asleep then around 9 am I still wasn’t dilated past 1 cm so they gave me a second dosage and I felt contractions instantly but still only dilated to 3 cm and was vomiting by 11 am I got an epidural and felt better but in the end I had an emergency c section anyways bc me and my daughters vitals were getting worse and she was born at 2:38 pm
I was induced at 39 weeks and gave birth after 14 hours of labor. I had the epidural at 5cm because my back labor was way too painful to bear.... the dr said my son would have came sooner if I didn’t get the epidural.
Well I was induced last Thursday. They gave me a pill in my vagina to start having contractions and pitocin to start thinning out. After that the contractions started getting srtonger and dialating. I had to get epidural. the next day I had baby
Mine was amazing, I had my little girl at 37 weeks and 5 days due to preeclampsia, but I went in at 7pm, my nurse was a doll and let me eat before starting, and it was just my husband and I until things started moving faster and we just laughed and talked about what we thought it was gonna be like, fell asleep and then they started my drip of Oxytocin at 4am, I fell back asleep and my contractions didn't really even start hurting but I was dilated to a 5 so I asked for my epidural just to be safe and I felt nothing lol I began pushing at 4:27 and gave birth at 4:40 pm, it was the best experience of my life and very enjoyable.
I was induced at 41w6d 😭 they gave me pitocin and started contractions went on like that for exactly 12 hours but I wasn’t dilating at all 😭 so I decided to get epidural like at 1 pm and I started dilating 1 cm each hour until 9 pm my water broke 🙌🏽 and I was at 10 cm but it took me two hours and a half to push my baby girl out and once I did they made me stop when her head was out since she had her little hand on her cheek but the umbilical cord was around her neck 😔 thank god nothing bad but I had to stop pushing for five minutes and it was the worst feeling ever ! And my baby girl was born after 26 hours in labor ! Everybody is completely different. I must admit I was in so much stress since fours days before my induction date my sister passed away and we had to the funeral. I had no rest at all and was emotional wreck. Hopefully you have it easy and fast !! I hope that with this baby I don’t have to be induced so I am trying everything I can go in labor on my own.
