You know whats best for your baby! If she does better a different way than nursing then thats okay! As long as shes healthy.

@mommyof.3 i feel like she would have done great nursing if we weren't separated right after we left the hospital... I was sent to a hospital 2 hrs away from her bc i needed surgery and i didn't have anything pumped and saved by that point...

@aln1017 you could keep trying and just supplement.

@aln1017 you could supplement with formula. So you would nurse like normal and then give her a couple of ounces of formula after. That way shes getting breast milk and nursing and she is also getting full.

@aln1017 if you asked her pediatrician they would probably be able to explain better. Or even a laction consultant.

@mommyof.3 thats what we've been doing and with each feeding it just seemed to get worse... like id nurse her n then give her a bottle n then when it came to her last feeding for the night she sit there n scream for like 20 min. N refuse to latch for me

@mommyof.3 beleive me id love to keep going for her but i do t know how to get her to latch when shes screaming like that and on top of needing to supplement i also have flat nipple and have to use a nipple sheild as well which makes it a bit harder...

@aln1017 well she could be gassy or nipple confusion. Or she could have just decided she wants to be formula fed. If you are okay with it then thats okay. If you want to keep trying then it will be hell but you never know. She could latch again. Its all up to you.
