Anyone’s baby on Nutramigen formula? How do they like it? It tastes awful to me baby doesn’t want to take it but seems like all other formulas are milk based and don’t agree with him :(
@dmgraham06, it’s super expensive 😩but i heard in some cases dr can write for prescription for it and insurance will cover? I couldn’t understand why something that tastes so bad would be so expensive lol
My son was on Nutramigen because of a milk protein allergy. It was a frustrating transition. I’m assuming it tastes as awful as it smells and it is also a lot thinner then other formulas made with milk. I remember the first couple of bottles he fought screaming and crying. A couple days in he was drinking it like a champ.
Don’t get discouraged if you don’t notice a change in your baby right away. It can take a couple of days for the other formula to exit your baby’s system. In my son’s case it took 3 weeks because his gut needed to repair itself. Any frustration you have with the nutramigen is well worth it in the end. At least it was for us. My boy was a entirely new baby, happy all the time, once it started working.
There is prosobee or similac sensitive or gerber soy my son was on prosobee
@barefootmom, I filled out the paperwork, signed by my doctor, for my insurance and was declined any assistance. Now this may vary by state and insurance companies. We have BCBS and it was a no go.
Good luck!
