I'll be 38 weeks on Wednesday. My doctor wants to induce me at 39 weeks if I don't give labor by then. He says that being induced reduces the chances of having a c section. Mmmm that doesn't sound too right to me. I thought it was the opposite?
In the meantime, I'm 2cm dilated and I want to go to labor on my own 😩 please give me ideas to make my body dilate more!
My doctor said he would induce my labor at 38 weeks, if my baby girl still had growth issues and if the percentile dropped to 10 or less. Last thursday, it was 10 percentile, and he said if she didn't come on her own by 38 weeks, he would induce labor at that time. I'm 36 weeks 1 day today, he said my cervix was super thin, and 1cm dilated. Is there a possibility this can change... that my doctor will let her just come on her own? I don't want to be induced, i would much rather her come on her own when she is ready to come ! As much as I am anxious to meet her and have her home with me, those last few weeks of brain development and lung maturation means so much more to me! I'm hoping and praying that things turn around, and I don't have to get induced. I'm surely going to talk to my doctor about it Thursday when I go back.

It's my turn ladies! Finally, after nearly FORTY-TWO weeks... I decided to get induced. Baby Violet scared me with some decreased fetal movement and I couldn't wait any longer.

Before u become pregnant think of this Do I want to be uncomfortable as hell for 40-42 weeks? Do I want to be in horrible pain for up to 14-16 hours even longer Can I handle pushing a big ass head through my vagina Can I handle this with no pain meds(sometimes u can't make it in time) Do I want to go to the hospital 10x before I'm actually in labor. Because inducing your labor at 32-37 weeks for your own selfish needs or getting a csection to do it the "easy" way is just plain selfish and FYI a csection is no easy way out. Maybe cause u Dont go thro labor pains but if you r getting a csection to cut out the most rewarding part because u quit frankly Dont want to be in pain your selfish as hell I've had csection n vaginal So Dont come for me BEING INDUCED IS DANGEROUS TO YOU AND YOUR CHILD! LET BABY STAY IN AS LONG AS POSSIBLE IF BABY IS HEALTHY THIS IS COMING FROM THE MOUTH OF A WOMEN WHO DELIVERED A SON AT 19WEEKS NOT BY CHOICE AND WHO HAS TO GET SHOTS ONCE A WEEK TO CARRY MY BABYS!

He’s right. It does increase the risk of c section. But it doesn’t mean it always ends in c sections. I was induced and gave birth without issue.

@theinkedmommy, I'm sorry, I meant that he said it decreases the chance of a c section. I knew he wasn't right. I was also induced with my first son but that caused me to be in labor for 36 hours :/. Why were you induced? He really has no reason to induce me. It's just "because"

That’s when it feels like it’s never going to happen. It feels like your going to be pregnant forever. The Taco Bell and buffalo chicken pizza and pineapple core really helped me

@juliannap, If its just “because” you have a right to refuse it. They can’t force you to be induced. I had to be induced for medical reasons, as my daughter was measuring behind.

I’ll be 38 Weeks on Wednesday too!!! When is your due date? Mines is March 14th.. drink some 100% pineapple juice!! That juice started contractions when I was pregnant with my son.

That's also why I was induced with my
Son. He was measuring behind, only 5 lbs and I had IUGR. But this time around everything's been better.. I'll see what he says at my next appt. thanks!
I'm reading online and it says that it's better to be induced at 39 weeks rather than at 40 🤦♀️🤔

@juliannap, I was induced at 39 weeks. She was born less than 10 hours later. But when I went in I was already dilated to a 3 & 80% effaced. My midwife ended up breaking my water by accident when she was checking for dilation. 🙊 My daughter was born 5 lbs 10.5 oz healthy as a horse.

@juliannap, omg!! We are due date twins lol!! I’m still pregnant so no luck really lol. Today I walked up and down some stairs & did some squats.. I have an appointment on Wednesday hopefully I’ve dilated!! I’m gonna try that pineapple juice this pregnancy as well!

@torystewart94, I'm going to try the squats. All I've done is walk a whole lot and have a lot of sex. Lol but I'm still stuck st 2 😩 I truly don't want to be induced. I want to go into labor on my own :(
