I may have to put my 4 month old son on formula because I don't have enough breastmilk saved up for my dad to watch him when I begin working. Has anyone else gone from breastfeeding to formula? Im experiencing mommy guilt 😢 I'm not even sure what kind if any is good formula.
@mommiesaremagical14 that is 100% truth. There's so much judgment involving every decision when it comes to children. I never thought I'd use formula or the combination feed method this early on or at all. This is my first child. Once they knew I could produce the pressure to breastfed for years began. If I could work from home or be a stay at home mom maybe things would be different. I pray I'm lucky enough to Breastfed if I decided to have more. I had a difficult 5 days of not latching after giving birth.
Did you decide with your pediatrician on which formula was best for her or did you decide on your own?
@mamaways good, I'm glad you're feeling better. Of course every mother wants to breastfeed but that's not always possible. People I want to bash on formula but many mothers still struggle not only to produce milk but struggle to get their children to latch on and eat. Without formula even our children today could die. Even after all this time we still don't have another alternative for breast milk or formula. So formula is a god-sent and a lifesaver.
@mommiesaremagical14 that makes a lot of since because I can't say breastfeeding has kept my little one from getting a cold. He's recently gotten over his cold. I feel more confident now about having to do so and you're absolutely right because just about everyone I know has formula fed. My ex was actually formula fed.
@mamaways if it wasn't for formula millions of babies would have died They've done a lot of studies between breastmilk and formula formula does offer all the same vitamins and nutrients that breast milk does. Of course everybody says breast is best which it is but formula isn't that far behind. I mean it keeps our children alive right? My daughter was on formula for a year. She very rarely gets sick when she does it's very mild and only last for a couple of days she's never had an ear infection or the flu she doesn't have any allergies. I'd say that the formula she was on did its job just fine.
@mommiesaremagical14 im trying to convince myself things will work out and formula isn't as bad as my ex drilled into me to believe. We're trying to coparent and I know explaining this to him he'll be upset because he's totally against formula. How did you decide on which formula to give your baby girl? And how did your significant other feel?
@mommiesaremagical14 the worst part is I was lucky to produce enough but my living situation doesn't allow me the space or comfort to pump and save at the moment. What kind of formula did you use?
I tried for the first 3 months to breastfeed my daughter. I wasn't producing enough breast milk either. I went through the feeling guilty phase but you get over it eventually. I got over it because I just realized that it's not that big of a deal. Things could be much worse. She's happy she's healthy she's growing and there are so many other great things that I have accomplished as a mother. We can't succeed at everything but there are still so many great things that we do as moms . If you ever need to talk I'm always here.
@mamaways I understand, I never thought I was going to end up having a c-section. I read all about learned all about watch shows about and study vaginal birth. Not once did I ever focus on anything that had to do a C-section. Then I ended up having a c-section. I chose oh my own which formula to get her. Doctors don't know everything. I know a lot of moms who were being pressured into doing something they didn't feel it was right for their child by the child's Dr. It happens to a lot of first-time moms people see a first-time mom coming a mile away and think that they can just control everything she does makes her feel incompetent and Clueless so that she'll just do everything they say.
