Is it normal to cramp so much and be in discomfort after being checked for dilation?

Yes, it’s very normal. Some light spotting may even accompany. As someone else said, Tylenol is what I’d suggest, if you’re not opposed to the idea. Also, when I experience it, I’d eat ice. Not sure if that’s your thing, but I find that it helped at least take my mind off of it!

Yes it is but it should go away within a few hours or a day or so everyone's different. If you're not against taking medication while pregnant you can take some Tylenol if you'd like.
