My boyfriend needs a root canal and is in so much tooth pain right now. He has no insurance and we have no money and I don’t know what to do 😢
@mommylovescoraline, I’ll let you know. I don’t think we can afford the trip down or the time off of work
@alyssa_hoffmaster Myrtle Beach South Carolina. I know it's a trip but if you guys can get here, my hubby and I will show u all where the clinic is. I know that sounds strange bc we've never met buy i Inouye a tooth ache is no joke so of there's any way we can help you let us know
@sherrynygirl, ya, he called the dental school and since he has no insurance he has to pay up front
@alyssa_hoffmaster i had 1 wisdom tooth removed more painful than giving birth my 3x...many places offer payment arrangements if u have no dental insurance
@mommylovescoraline, oh ok, I hope that he can get in! Because I hate seeing anyone in pain. I feel so useless
@fasciamom, ya I just tried to sign him up but he doesn’t have the best credit so we got denied
@mommylovescoraline, ok we could be able to pay it in a month just not Ik front
@nomli, ya everybody said that was a ridiculous amount so he going to try a clinic of students and see how much that will cost.
No idea how legit it is, but this came up when I Googled root canal costs. It may be what they put my dad on. (He's currently drugged up from surgery so I can't ask him. Not like he'd remember anyway.)

@nomli, the one place he went too said 4,000 and we had to do 4 payments of 1,000
I had to pay for mine upfront, but I had insurance.
Have you called any dentists nearby to see if they'd do anything for you, charge less or do a payment plan? My dad just had a bunch of work done, the office set him up with some discount plan and set up monthly payments.
It might also be better to just have the tooth pulled, depending on how bad it was. My root canal was just on the cusp of being too bad to fix. The procedure itself was cheap...the crown is what sucked.
Try and college that offers dentistry services. We have a dental college and I know they take patients as part of their course work. I know people who have done that when they didn’t have insurance.
@alyssa_hoffmaster That's understandable. Google clinics near you and call and ask if they do sliding fees or any other type of payment plans. Also have your bf apply for Medicaid.
