Please help me, I need some reassurance!!!!!!Hey ladies, so when my baby was around 6 days old, we had to spend a couple nights in NICU for jaundice (22.3 level) and were released when they got her levels back down to 12.5. She is now 5 weeks, turning 6. Her skin doesn't look as yellow but the whites of her eyes still aren't that white. Some days she is super sleepy and sleeps all day and other days she's awake and alert. She also is very fussy unless being held. Is any of this related to the jaundice? Should I go back to the hospital? Or am I over reacting??

That’s how my son was, his eyes were still yellowish , u should of received a follow up appointment to have his jaundice tested again, I would have him in the sun which helped , I know over time his eyes would get to white, I would call his pediatrician tho so they can follow up on it

I wouldn’t bring her to the hospital but they shoulda done a follow up appointment so I would call tomorrow and ask to have her seen and checked

@km416, yes, after the hospital we've sat in the sun. I put her in the window in the morning. We go on walks in the afternoon.

My son had it too but we went home 3 days after he was born, I'm Mexican so I asked my dad about it and he said to put him on the sun for a a couple of mins a day or to take him out of the house, when it was sunny outside, we where always going somewhere since the day we got out of the hospital & it did go away

He was 2 ½months I believe when he had the second test to see how he was doing

@heinreichdarrian, yeah both mine had it sun light is good. If it’s cold out I would lay them under a open window in the morning with just a diaper for like 15 minutes. If not if it’s warm outside then an onsie outside for a little
