@momboo yea but it's healthy for the baby it does look gross but it's natural im all for natural

I read about that, but it seemed like a lot of up keep. And the nurse we had said they get a lot (a certain percentage I can’t remember) of their blood on the first minute and a half

@mom2bei yea all my pregnancies I've went natural birth no epidural so this sound good for the baby but idk

The British Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists warned against the method after a small number of women in the UK were opting to have lotus births.

A spokesperson said at the time: 'If left for a period of time after the birth, there is a risk of infection in the placenta which can consequently spread to the baby.

'The placenta is particularly prone to infection as it contains blood. Within a short time after birth, once the umbilical cord has stopped pulsating, the placenta has no circulation and is essentially dead tissue.

'If women do opt for umbilical non-severance, the RCOG strongly recommends that their babies be monitored carefully for any signs of infection.'

I saw the second picture.. it looks and sounds really nice. But I saw the comment on the “British studies” also. I mean some things work for others and some don’t. I just want a healthy baby without any risk tbh. I feel as mothers we try to do what’s best for our child.

You also have the option to do delayed cord cutting so leaving attached until it stops pulsating. Which is at max I believe and extra five minutes. That is something I want to do
