Question. I know all schools are different, but at what point do kids NOT go out for recess in elementary school? My son left his hat and gloves in my car and I'm trying to reason taking it back to him or not.
I’m thinking of pull my daughter from her school and into home school because of the sex Ed coming to her school. How is home schooling.?
Transgender children So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are your thoughts on the matter? Do u think the parents are behind this? Idk because I haven't met the parents or children. I just think at 5 it's very young for children to really understand. What do u ladies think?
School fees Having an intense debate on Facebook about school fees for public school. I'm in the "stop whining about school fees and stop having kids if you can't afford them" camp and there is the other camp of "free school is a constitutional right! It's bull s*** we have to pay anything at all".

Mine is in the 3rd grade and still goes out unless it’s really really cold out. But his previous school stopped recess at kindergarten.

@nerualauren yeah he's in kindergarten and still has recess. I was just hoping there would be some way out of driving this stuff to school 😭😭. I brought in cupcakes, does that make me a good enough mom😂

I believe it's after 5th grade once they're in 6th grade there's no more recess

I worked at a headstart and they went outside unless it was below 35 degrees or a lot of snow outside. Sadly it was times where it felt so cold but temp wise they said we had to.

@mz.foy14 thank you. It's right in that brink today. It was 30 when I got back and saw his hat and gloves still in the back. Today was just the worst day for him to do it because I have so much stuff to set up between his birthday and transferring my medical recorda

@worlds.okayest.mom They should keep them in. You could always call and check. Some schools have extra supplies like coats, hats, etc and will be willing to give him a new hat to wear out if you want.

@mz.foy14 exactly. My husband was trying to talk me down off my anxiety cliff explaining "he fights us to even put on a jacket, I think he'll live without hat and gloves." The mom in me was like "BUT WHAT IF HE GETS FROST BITE?!" 😂

@worlds.okayest.mom lol Frost bite? You had to do what was going to calm you.. It's not like you had to make a hat from scratch and drive hours away to give it to him. Lol
