Really need to vent! I’ve been extremely constipated and just so uncomfortable. I been going to see my doctor weekly now I’m having a c-section on 2/26. Back and everything been hurting. I know I only got two weeks left. I asked my doctor can I go on maternity leave. She said I couldn’t because I didn’t have a real medical reason! I’m just sooooo irritated. I forgot to mention she checked the baby heart beat and I asked was she still going to check my cervix. She said only if u want me to... what kind of question/answer is that? ANY ADVICE?

@kira18, When I called today... it has to be a note from the doctor stating why I am taking a leave before my due date. Basically the lady said I would need my doctor approval, I just couldn’t call and say hey today is my last day at work!
Your doctor can't stop you from going on maternity leave, that's up to you & your job. You fill the paperwork out with your job and he just has to verify that you're pregnant.
I cut out coffee until I got constipated. Even decaf does the job for me 😂
Yeah never really a reason to check cervix. Especially if you've already planned a csection. The maternity leave thing is bull...wtf other reason would someone go on MATERNITY leave for besides pregnancy? Mine kept telling me to go and I waited lol.

@worlds.okayest.mom, yes! I’ve been trying milk of magnesia. She prescribed me to something different today. Hopefully that works

Idk why, but every time I go to the doctor they just check my blood pressure, weight, urine, baby's heartbeat, and send me on my way!

When did you ladies start getting checked to see if your dilating? I am 36 weeks 4 days and not once have any of my doctors checked to see if I am or not.. Only been checked to see if my son is head down, and he is.. Last week I went and the doctor said that she didn't wanna check to see if I was dilating cause she didn't wanna "mess with my cervix" 😕 or "get things started" those were her words... FTM
Second opinion
Have any of you ladies ever gotten a second opinion? I just had an ultrasound yesterday that showed an empty sac. I met with the doctor today and she said she wants me to come in for a D&C next Wednesday. I asked her what I measured at in my ultrasound yesterday and she said 6weeks and my hcg yesterday was 45,000 but was adamant they would see more at this point. I’m just not sure how to go about getting a second opinion. Do I go to the same hospital and just a different doctor ...
Sorry to hear that. I've never heard of that. I'm due in March. All I had to do was call Sedgwick (a company that takes care of our leave) and let them know I needed my maternity paperwork to give my dr. They emailed it to me & asked me for my due date & my last day of work. I filled the paperwork out, took it to my dr, she filled her portion out, & I faxed it back. I'm choosing to work until a week before my due date, but it was totally my choice, not my drs. Good luck with everything.
