Ugh. I got summoned to jury duty. How do I get out of this?! I have absolutely NO-ONE to watch my child. Hence why I'm a stay at home mom. I have no transportation at all. I don't have family or friends to help. And the place is a hour and some minutes away. There is no way I'm able to go. So what I'm gonna end up in jail over something I have no control over? 😠

I live in NJ and I just called and explained I was a SAHM and they said, ok no problem and took me off of it for the next 5 years!
When i got served i wrote a letter telling them i was breastfeeding and my doc signed it and i was dismissed. But that was TN

@butterfli_luv definitely going to call tomorrow/today. I have proof I don't have any income nor do I own any vehicle. I'm praying to god they just dismiss me.

@butterfli_luv Yes. It says I'm on call for 2 week's. I know there's no way I'll be able to go. Scared the cops will just show up at my door and take me to jail.
This is what’s online. I went to mine when they called me and they asked me if I could get a babysitter and my answer was yes so they chose me. But I know people who have called and say they are the only one who can take care of the kids an got excused.

@erikasmiles123, Wow that is just ridiculous you don’t go you’re in trouble you arrive and still get in trouble. They really need to fix these exceptions
@karenr1408 1 mom here in Michigan didn't have child care so she showed up with her child and got arrested. Blows my mind
@karenr1408 I'm going to call. But I was told by people who had to go that, that wasn't good enough if they had to do it with one mom who had a small child they would have to dismiss every mom who had similar problems.
Maybe if you call and explain that you have no transportation nor someone to watch your little one they’ll understand, well at least I’d hope so
I went online and filled the form out and said I had no one to watch my twins. They let me off the hook the next day. I didn’t even need a doctors note or proof.
