@spencermomof4, but I would make a deal with her that you will only get her a coat she likes IF she wears it to and from school and any time she's outside.

@spencermomof4 I would just talk to her girl to girl. Give her a chance to explain herself. If she doesn't like the jacket you got her, then I would take her to get one she likes with he exception that it's thick and warm.

@cassidy11 well her mom gave up all rights to her when she was 2 to my husband he was 16, she was birn when he was 14, but she does get punished when she acts out

@spencermomof4, that's how my step siblings are. They're unruly and turds every time they come back from their moms. My mom and step dad (their dad) end up having to take TV, phone's, tablets, Xbox, basically everything fun because they know the rules yet they still break them.

@cassidy11 no she does wonderful in school her teachers say their glad have her she participates interacts with other students, only time she ever acts out is when she visits her mom when shes st her grandparents

@sensen thats what I was gonna say. Talk to her and see why she is refusing. But make sure she knows she's not in trouble that you just wanna help. If she is embarrassed to wear a big fluffy coat, take her and let her pick one out. Girls that age can be mean to other girls because of what they're wearing.

I did this to my mom. I hated when she made me wear big coats.. I was so embarrassed wearing it, I would just take it off. Your step daughter could just be embarrassed. Try letting her be without the jacket. She'll get cold, possibly sick and she'll learn her lesson from there. That's what worked for me lol.

@cassidy11 yea, shes my husbands daughter but, i still get to punjsh her, i took her phine away last night for being a smart alic and cussing at her little brother

I would honestly just talk to her about the dangers of her not wearing a coat. And if she still refuses, I'd start punishment. As in no tv, no phone, no friends, just homework dinner and bed. That's what my parents did to my little brother because he's 11 and refused to wear a coat.
