How do you make an 8 year wipe her butt after she pees??? My fiancé's daughter doesn't wipe and I'm getting so frustrated! I know she doesn't. I'll place the toilet paper a certain way and sure enough it doesn't get touched. I told her next time she goes I'm making her hop in the shower to rinse off. I want to go in and watch her wipe... Even show her how but she's not my daughter and that'd be weird for her. But this is getting to be too much.
@familygrown I told her either you rinse after you pee or you let me watch. She had me watch and I tried telling her how much toilet paper to use. Haha we get her on the weekends so next weekend I'll see if she's gotten better... I hope...
I had an issue with this when I was little. I didn't want to wipe because I was always afraid I'd get it on me somehow and I'd holler from the bathroom until my mom or nanny would come help. They finally broke me of it by explaining why its important and showing the proper way to do it and would stand there with me until I would do it myself 😅😌😂Since its a step-daughter I only suggest the explaining part though
@raisinglittledoves I hope she can learn before she's 8. 😟 it's so frustrating.
Definitely. You have nothing to worry about. You care for your step daughter. With good intentions I don't think it could go wrong. Heck, maybe invite her out to drinks together?
@kambam I've been wanting to meet her but since it's been so long now my anxiety gets the best of me. She's always had rashes and even has a cream for it. And says she's itchy. And from what I heard she's growing hair down there and since I'm not allowed to talk about periods with her *she said my mom only wants me to talk to her about it* I feel like showing her how to wipe would be stepping my boundaries. I guess a drink before I meet her will help. Haha
I care for her and would hate for her to get an infection.
Not a bad idea to try and establish a relationship with her. If she's a bitch about it then what can you do but try. It's difficult because it's not your child and if you get too personal it can get heated. Her mother really needs to be involved and know her child isn't wiping which can lead to rashes or infection. Then that's on her! So get wiping or enjoy the alternative.
@kambam well thats a good way to get the point across haha
I've tried getting him to talk to the mom but from what he says shes lazy and doesn't do much. I still have never met her. I wonder if it would be too much if I asked to speak to her. I'm going to have to be more persistent getting him to talk to her.
Idk my dad wiped mine and my sisters asses when we were young and I remember him screaming at us abusively about how to wipe lmao. I think he should speak to her mom so they can work on improving your situation.
I don't want to ask family members cuz I don't want to put her on blast and embarrass her but this has been an ongoing battle since she was 5 and I feel like she's old enough to know how to wipe.
Rant!
My sitter used cottonelle wet wipes on my baby! Now she has huge rash!!! I totally get that my SO forgot to put the wipes in her diaper bag. But she could have told one of us and we could have brought her some or she could have went to the store and I could pay her back. I don't get it. She buys her clothes and toys, takes her places while I'm at work. The store is literally a 5 minute walk from her house. But she decided cottonelle wipes are ok? Ugh. Rant over.

is it wrong to be frustrated that my daughter acts like she can't do certain things with out my help. she plays dumb a lot and I wish I could be like no girl show what you know. she acts like she can't trace or match shapes so shes ask for "mommy finger" to help her so I barely hold her hand and she magically can do it but if I dont hold her hand she just scribbles and acts like she doesnt know
the pic is how she traces when I'm "helping her" otherwise it'll just be scribbles all over the page
FTM problems...
So I've made it pretty clear that I want to buy my daughter her fist Halloween costume. Her babysitter/nanny keeps saying she wanted to make her one. I told her yesterday that I wanted to find her something that my SO and I could dress up as a family. So I told her I am going to get it. She just text me and said 'not trying to step on your toes but I bought her two costumes'. She does this all the time. Anytime I want to do the "first" things with her she immediately does it. It...

My sweet baby girl gained her angel wings this morning. She was my best friend, my true love my everything. She was so happy and beautiful, I'm struggling to say good bye. Sleep tight princess, mummy and daddy love you very very much ❤️
This is petty... But my MIL keeps saying she just "knows" my daughter will come on the 7th. I really hope she doesn't just because I don't need her taking credit for the rest of our lives. It's annoying enough that she is always saying she knew she was a girl before we found out, but didn't want to say anything because "it would ruin the surprise." This is my pregnancy. This is my daughter. We already don't get along, and this is making it a lot worse.
Good luck this weekend! I hope your efforts have made a difference in her poddy routine!!
