Small rant. Today my daughter was naughty at her Grandparent's house. She pushed a ball down the stairs. Gram went and got it and she did it again after I told her not to. Then she ran and got the giant exercise ball and I immediately said "do not push that down the stairs. It can hurt grandma and Papa's house. She pushed it down the stairs and I sent her straight to time out. My dad then continues to talk to Aria while in time out and try to play with her. He then made comments about me being too harsh and she is just a little girl. (I grew up in a house with spanking, by the man telling me a time out was too harsh) Finally when time out ended I told my daughter we had to go home because she chose not to listen and she hurt Grandma's house so now we lost the privilege to stay and we would try again tomorrow. So my mom walks to the pantry and comes back and gives her chocolate. Seriously, I don't understand how my parents can undermind my authority so much. I took the chocolate and explained to my daughter that treats are earned and her behavior meant that she couldn't have the chocolate. We went home but honestly I can't help but feel irritated with my parents. I'm trying to raise a decent kid.

I completely understand and I would be upset too. I think they are soft cause that’s their grand baby. Maybe talk to them later and explain that you don’t want her to think that she’s just going to get rewarded for her behavior. Maybe telling them more than once will help. I’m sorry. It sucks. But you are doing a great job!
