Does anyone else struggle with eczema? I get it all year round but it’s the worst in the winter and I’ve tried a bunch of different creams and tried moisturizing before but none of it helps and it’s irritating and embarrassing because I can’t help but scratch and then my skin especially my hands are all dry cracked and scaly.. any suggestions on what may help!?
Hun, if you're a sween user, you can still find them at WalMart and Amazon. I've been ordering Burt's bees from amazon and there are many of it n there.
@cheyenneelizabeth1716, awesome thank you I really will check it out because I’m miserable! But omg poor kids! I’m hoping my baby doesn’t have it because it is just so awful! :( and I bite my nails it’s a habit I’ve never been able to get out of unfortunately I know it’s so gross but it’s always been my thing with my anxiety and what not so I’ve never had long nails
@cheyenneelizabeth1716, when I was a baby the hospitals would give my mom sween cream for me and it worked wonders but I haven’t seen or heard about it in years but I’m going to look around and see if I can find it and try it out!
@maurissaerhardt I'd suggest giving it a try seriously. I know you will do what you want but I'm just telling you from personal experience. Especially going thru it myself and now my kids struggle with it. Good bond eczema lotion is the only thing that helps me and my kids. Winter months are tuff because it's cold and dry out but even summer is too because sweating will irritate it.
@cheyenneelizabeth1716, omg that’s awful I’m sorry you dealt with that I’m the same way though I can’t help but scratch it and then it starts bleeding and I have it all over my body but it’s the worst on my legs and hands my sister has it really bad too :( but thank you for letting me know I’ll have to give it a try!
When I was little my mom had to wrap my arms up in gauze wrap so I could scratch because of scratch even in my sleep and woke up with bloody arms. It was horrible
@maurissaerhardt I went to a dermatologist my entire childhood all the way til 18 and nothing they did helped me!!!! So I stopped going because they prescribed my cortisone and gave me steroid shots ECT and it didn't help because mine was so bad I missed school. And gold bond eczema was the only thing that helped me. And use unscented laundry soap and take warm showers.
@bwjones6, not yet I see an allergist yearly but everything she’s suggested so far that I’ve tried doesn’t work I’m seeing my primary care physician on feb 9th I’m going to talk to them about options or see if they can refer me to a dermatologist I saw the commercial for Eucrisa I want to ask my doctor about it
@cheyenneelizabeth1716, on thing is my allergist said she wants me to use cream not lotion
Have you been to the dermatologist?? They should be able to give you some cream for it
My doctor years back gave me a cream called protopic and it works wonders.. I deal with eczema really bad and like you said in the winter is the worse I hate it. That's the only thing I really found that helped me.
