Girls I really need your advice..
My LG is 18 months when she was 11 months old we went abroad and ran out of formula so on the advice of 3 children's nurses we transitioned her to cows milk. We soon realised she was dairy intolerant and this was confirmed by the doctors. We were told instead of giving her milk give her water at night.. she has 3 meals a day and a snack at 4pm.. her tea time is always 6pm and she's in bed at 7pm but she wakes in the night starving....
Would you try soya milk or follow on milk for her to just line her tummy at night so she isn't so hungry. At the moment she's waking up 4 or 5 times a night for a drink. She now has to have her nappy changed at night but still wakes up soaking wet!
We are two parents in need of help 😭😭😭

I would try to wean her off of milk at night. She is probably waking out of habit, knowing she it getting milk. If she's eating that much during the day there is no need for it during the night. I'd try offering water and over time she'll break the habit of waking when she realises there is no milk. My sister tried that with my newphew as he was still waking over 2.5yrs. Just my advice/opinion. But at this age I would not be offering milk. My aim would be to get them sleeping. It's a tough one to tackle.

Soya growing up milk before bed or oatly barrista are the best for milk intolerant babies x they contain the correct amount of vitamins and fat content as full fat milk x

@sara-lou86 poppy hasn't had milk at night for a long time we weaned her off it about 13 months due to her intolerance. She wakes up starving though. She's so so hungry x

Oh sorry I must have missed that part. Thought she was waking for her milk. Are you sure it's hunger why she's waking? Max has good and bad phases of sleeping through and waking up throughout the night. He's just never been as good of a sleeper as his brother. The doctor advised my sister not to give milk before bed as it just sits there without digesting properly which was causing him issues with discomfort. They shouldn't need it but it often becomes a comfort to go to sleep. Does she eat much at tea? I give a hot meal plus some finger foods. Hoping it fills them up enough until morning!

@chesscalouise they told me hunny due to her she can get all the nutrients she would from milk from other foods so she didn't need milk. I think if she was any younger they'd prescribe special milk xx

What other stuff did they say she would get the nutrients of milk off? Do you give her dairy free yogurts and butter xx@catherineln25

@sara-lou86 I'm positive it's hunger. She has a huge portion for tea. She's always been a very hungry child who loves her food. She has a 10 month pot of food at 4pm and then at 6pm has whatever we have and she will eat all of that. Then she has a fruit pot with rice in it. Poppy has a very distinctive cry when she's hungry xx

@chesscalouise yes.. I was told to continue with normal butter in the hope she would grow out of the intolerance. She really enjoys dairy free yoghurts I was hoping to find dairy free ice cream if you know of any? Xx

I'm surprised they didn't pick up on her having a dairy allergy from a really young age my son was diagnosed at a few weeks old we was in and out of hospital and the doctors with him until he was it was a nightmare he's slowly growing out of it now he's still on prescribed milk, I don't no of any ice creams sorry I think you best bet is too just feed her more my daughter is 22 months she has breakfast snack lunch snack tea then half a hour before bed 2 yogurt and cereal so maybe just before bed feed her something filling xx @catherineln25
