When making the baby room key things needed according to you awesome mommies would be ?
Yes deffenatly heal and part time is the way to go also I feel like your husband my mother treated me really bad that I know exaclty how he feels it's just much healthier for you guys to move on from negative encounter even if they are family. Sad but true I want to do something part time too just don't know what yet I have a long way to go a year and 6 months until I go back to working I need to relax
@verguinia, my mil we had to cut out of our lives just after my first was born due to both alcoholism and substance abuse. She went to rehab and is now sober. But it's very difficult for my husband because of all the damage she's caused, spreading rumors that weren't true on fb and had ppl go after him; could have lost his job, we ended up moving because she was stalking us, etc. Recently we met up with her before we had our second with our oldest at a restaurant and she got to see her. But it was the most awkward meal ever. My husband is a man of few words at times and this was one of them. He didn't want her coming to the hospital to see the new baby. It's going to take a long time; if ever since he's been through this more than half his life with her. I used to work in the hospital er for mental health; caught her trying to get prescription pills for "pain" twice on shift. Not a situation I ever want to be in again. It got to the point I left the job.
I work with children now as a behavior therapist. Because I work part time, I already have the itch to go back. But I know I need to heal fully first since I had a c section.
@mommyof2girlz yea he is amazing to want to make your life easier and provide but letting your parents bless you with things is a gift I wish my parent where around my father is a drunk and my mother just changed during metapous and hates me and my boyfriend's mother us in her country and its very poor.you have a master's that is great I have an associate but I want to change my job I worked with children for 5 years but I realized I helped them grow and didn't have time for my own children so I'm thinking of another field to join. In the end of the day God is always there so every struggle we both have will be resolved in Jesus name Amin !
@verguinia, yeah. My sister did the same. She offered it to me but we didn't have the space renting at the time. Of course a year later, I was pregnant 😂
She had my nieces crib. She donated it the day before I announced I was expecting. We gave the kids big cousin t shirts at my nieces birthday party. Our oldest is their first cousin. So a very special moment! Of course after I found out they donated it; my parents being my parents... are in my ear telling my husband and I that they will buy all the nursery furniture. My husband has a hard time accepting things from them. They mean well and love to help. He's just not used to it where he grew up with a single mother and limited income. He doesn't want me working full time even though I have my masters degree so I can stay home with the girls. But he would work 2 jobs in a heartbeat or look for a better job/career to provide for us.
@mommyof2girlz I will keep that in mind I never heard of those stores I'm going to Google them ,my sister also had close age two girls sadly they are both like three and four so she gave away all her stuff
@verguinia, totally understand. We're fortunate both our kids are girls (winter babies) and close together; so we kept everything. Only needed another crib and double stroller. Anything you don't get, look at consignment stores if you need it for baby.
@anap1012 do these look good to you ? Are they one size fit all because they didn't ask for a size
I messege you did it go through it sent it on my side :/
@verguinia, i’m trying to message you but the app isn’t letting me :(
@anap1012 yes I never used them before let's message I'm gonna need your help
@verguinia, girl if you’re really tight on money you can get used cloth diapers. there are many ways to make cloth diapers affordable! i’ve been cloth diapering for a year now so if you need any tips i would love to help.
@mommyof2girlz yes I totally understand you I left my job sadly I have to find another one and he is working but it's slow in the winter in his job too :( I don't want to worry him about things he won't be able to do anything about like dipers if we don't have anything so I'm trying to get everything that will last like my friends are going to give me baby clothes and bed and stroller and stuff
@verguinia, my best advice is to stock up on essentials including cloth diapers now. That way when you are on leave; you have the items you need:wipes, bath / hygiene essentials, diapers, cloth diapers, formula, etc. I get money gets tight. We are in the same situation with me on maternity leave. I work part time so I have limited sick time then unpaid. My husband's job we've hit the slow season. It's awful, but we make due. It's only 8 weeks. My first, I was out almost 6 months because of bed rest and a preemie. We had to borrow money from my parents in order to pay bills.
This time, they've offered to help us with our utility bill since it's very high in the winter (old house). We're grateful for everything and once I've healed enough from my c section; I'm going back to at least one of my jobs early since it's one day a week.
@preciouslove i had that at work it was a help
@mommyof2girlz sometimes we don't have any money at all for a week and if I get some cloth dipers the baby will always be changed because I can wash them by hand
I loved the diaper genie keeps the room from smelling like pee diapers at night:)
@verguinia, I've debated that idea but have always done disposable. Just more convenient. Target has deals with cartwheel and coupons where at times you can died $100 on baby essentials and get a $20 gift card. I did that earlier this week. $100 in formula and got the gift card. Then purchased diapers costing me $4 😀
@mommyof2girlz sounds good I'm writing my list now I was thinking to get some cloth dipers for emergency just in case we run out of money
Rocker/glider chair, crib, dresser/changing table. Storage
