Hi mummies. Looking for a bit of tips and advice. I'm finding it hard to get my My 2 1/2 week old baby to settle in Moses basket after night feeds. I put her down in the Moses basket awake but she doesn't settle herself. She usually feeds, winds and falls asleep so I then put her in Moses basket. But it's now getting to the point where she lays on me and I find myself drifting off to sleep cause I'm so tired. She has a dummy sometimes but I don't give it her at night cause it just falls out and she's continue to cry. 🙈😭😰
@lauren-goodman, she’s still very young I wouldn’t worry to much, it’s all trial and error at that stage and trying to find what works xx
@rachaellw, yeah. It settles her for a bit. I feel just just loves being cuddled rather than left to lay in Moses basket or play mat x
@nadine_s, I will have a look at one of those cocoonababy .. thankyou 😘cx
@lauren-goodman, have you typed white noise?
@rachaellw, she usually seems satisfied once she's fed at night. Xx
I went through this with both of mine. I think it's normal as their adjusting. It's all trial and error finding out what helps. I keep night time as dark as possible. I used the street lights with Max and didn't turn any lights on so not to wake him up too much. I don't talk at all just kisses and soothing sounds.
Neither of mine liked swaddling but wanted to feel snug so I rolled up blankets and laid them neither side to make them feel secure. I did use dummies which can be annoying keep falling out until they learn how to keep them in. Sometimes it just takes time. They don't know the difference between night & day which is why I act quite differently in the day than to night.
Try putting your warn Tshirt in with her? Is she full enough? She she need extra milk at night? Xx
@lauren-goodman have a look at a next to me crib xx
You may try to put a towel in Moses basket to create a shape around her (that helped my baby got used to pram as he hated it and didn’t like it as he felt too much space and got scared ) she might feel frustrated as she used to be in your tummy . I personally found an amazing cocoonababy small bed nest that till 3/4 months but really amazing 😉 helps with winds and keeps nice and cuddly your baby 👶
@srose1989, oh dear🙈I feel for you. Can't cope with 2 weeks 😩🙈x
@chesscalouise, no, I just have a Moses basket xx
Do you have a next too me crib? Maybe she would like one of them x @lauren-goodman
@chesscalouise, she wakes up and just lays there for a while but eventually she gets frustrated and starts crying. I leave her for a bit to see if she will tire herself out but she gets louder 🙈I pick her up for a cuddle to settle her and she stops straight away x
Give her the dummy at night still if it falls out pop it back in, also when she wakes in the moses basket is she crying if not I'd leave her in there if she isn't crying she will soon fall asleep she's still a newborn and use too being inside of you it will take her time to adjust to not being on you all the time x @lauren-goodman
@chloemcmahon96, I swaddled her with her arms tucked in then wrapped under her then with her arms out so she wasn't restricted with movement but she hated it and kept waking my partner up who is back to work 🙈🙈x
@lauren-goodman how are you swaddling her cos when I do it with little girl she can't move in it and she does struggle but she gives up and stays asleep x
@jamie123, no haven't tried that one. I will give it s go 🙏🏼😋thankyou x
@chloemcmahon96, yeah but she fidgets and kicks her way out🙈x
@lauren-goodman, my son was like this, he still can be at times. Have you tried wearing a vest top throughout the day then putting it around the mattress of the Moses basket so she can still smell you? It worked wonders for a few weeks for us and then eventually he didn't need the vest anymore:) x
Help please i try get into bedtime routine but lately just not happening she'll fall asleep in my arms for a good hr so move her to moses basket but wakes back up quick so take her out put ber back in after 15 mins n flat out for few hours this is every night but is there another easier way to keep her in moses basket as worried she wont sleep in cot when time as spent most last night in ny arms as wouldn't sleep in basket at all x
Science!
My friend posted this on facebook last night and said her kids were asleep within minutes. It's a song that scientists created to help people fall asleep. I was skeptical but I thought what the hay, I'll try it out. I didn't bank on Dh falling asleep, but both him and lo were asleep by minute 2. And lo slept six straight hours. ?
Opinions on hungrier baby milk? My girl is drinking well over 30 oz in 24 hours. I tried her with water inbetween feeds but she just won't settle in till she has milk as she's hungry not thirsty. She's awake like 18 hours a day 😭
Dad's FB Video!!
Did anyone see that video a dad posted on his daughters FB page? He saw a post she made where she bashed her parents and cursed them, called them lazy and told them they should pay her for stuff she did around the house... So he called her out on it and put the video on her page!! Sorry if I missed a post already about this already, but I just saw the video and IT WAS AWESOME!!! Hahahhaa!
@sara-lou86, I've started to try not turn lamps on during night so she can adjust to night and day and that's slowly working 🙏🏼
Thankyou xx
