Quick question for people.
I have a fairly high pain threshold.....now I'm not saying I'm wonderwoman, I am sure labour will still be very painful. However my midwife told me I was having braxton hicks about a month ago; to me it felt like just a tightening of my stomach and not painful as my friends have made them out to be.

I am now 35 weeks and for the last 2 days I have had a lot of back pain, pain around the front bottom part of my stomach above my pelvic bone. And without being to graphic I have pooped a lot more often than is normal for me. The baby is still moving about but he slends a lot of time down around my pelvis. I did hurt the muscels in my stomach the night before whilst moving in bed so I understand it might just be after effects of that.

My questions are....do braxton hicks get stronger the closer you are to being full term?

Should I be panicking about the pains I'm feeling?

Ia it time for me to call my midwife and asl her for advice or wait for friday when I see her?

Have any of you felt these types of pains around the 35 week mark?

Thank you from an unknowing first tine mummy
Xx

Try having a bath if it takes the pains away it's not labour and just Braxton hicks. If continues start to monitor it and phone for a midwife if need some advice. Labour was a breeze i went for the pool it's like a big bath but so relaxing. Gas and air until the midwife took it away as I was doing better without it. Even when Luke got stuck it wasn't so bad. The most painful bit was them shoving the plunger up there to get him down and it was more uncomfortable than painful xx

Braxton hicks should be just tightenings :) but some people do find them painful. Although they shouldnt hurt. I never got them :) but labour was literally a breeze to me...I had a back to back labour too. Ive had period cramps worse than my labour..like 1000% worse. My sweep was really really really painful too. I actually cried. But labour was fine to me xx

@elisabrookfield yeah just keep an eye if it stops you sleeping no harm in going and being checked:) that's what the midwives are there for after all

@muffinmay True. I'm keeping an eye on it for now. If it stops me from sleeping then I'll know it worse than normal braxton hicks.
Glad you didn't get too much pain x

hey hey hey :) Labour isn't all that bad! personally I've had period pains that are worse than my Labour was and I was induced too ! I did the whole of labour with 2 paracetamol right at the beginning coz I was feeling so achey and tired and I was told it probably wasn't Labour anyway 😂 fast forward a few hours and I had to beg them to check me when I got stuck on the toilet coz she was coming out and they didn't believe me 😂😂😂 but honestly it's only as bad as your worst imaginings of it I think that's what helped me anyway I imagined it to be ripping my insides out and 2949485 x worse than my period pains 😂 and it wasn't worse at all for me but that could have just been my pain threshold idk

@mckenziesmummy its a lot.of back pain right at the bottom of my back and on my spine as well in the muscles around the front bottom part of my stomach.
The back pain is constant but does get stronger at times. I can't work out if its the way I am sat or not. (Keep swapping seats and positions)

Braxton hicks will eventually stop. Labour will conitnue, getting stronger & stronger, more intense. So I guess if it continues without stopping then I'd contact your midwife or hospital unit for advice.

@mckenziesmummy yeah exactly how I've felt. The pain I have now is totally different but not painful enough to put me fully out of action. Haha xx
