This might be a dumb question, but is it normal for a 3 month old not to poop for 2 days? He’s normally regular and poops a few times daily but I’ve noticed he hasn’t pooped since Thursday and its got me a little concerned, other than that he’s eating like normal and is his happy lil self. I just don’t wanna go running to my doctor unless I have to. Any thoughts mamas?
It depends sometimes the 👶🏽 will start to reject its normal milk 🥛 causing to be stopped up or it could simply be a sign of over feeding has the poop resumed if so did the color change cause I know my baby is having the issue and is really fussy and gassy now and he has issues with his poop 💩 as well
@_sheriee, oh wow really, I had no idea they could go that long! Crazy lol thank you! That definitely put my mind at ease.
I wouldn't worry if he's not in any discomfort. Breastfed babies can go up to 2 weeks without a poop and formula fed can go 4-5 days without being considered constipated.
@rachokai, he doesn’t seem uncomfortable to me at all. Thats a good idea though! I’ll have to remember the prune juice, thank you!
My daughter is almost three months and occasional gets constipated.. I give .5 oz of organic prune juice (with the least amount of sugar I can find) and she’ll usually go within a few hours. But I only give it if she’s clearly struggling to go and uncomfortable.
@crissie22, he hasn’t rejected any milk at all, eats like a champ lol and it hasn’t resumed yet, his last poop was Thursday early
