My 1 year old is now climbing on to the sofas but she walks along them precariously and has already fallen once, she knows how to get down properly, slide down on her tummy to stand cause I’ve seen her do it, but continues to run across them...I’m having kittens all the time, I’m frightened she really falls funny and hurts herself badly. I can’t always be right next to her, any suggestions? I’ve tried telling to sit in her bum over and over but she just does it anyway.

No it won't first time, or second or even third lol. Just something they learn over time. Unless you can shut her out of the room when you leave it's a case of reminding her how to sit until she learns & keeoing an eye on her as much as you can. You can't child proof everything. They need a certain amount of freedom to learn about danger & keeping safe. As you said even when your in the room it can happen so quickly!

@sara-lou86, she actually fell off head first the other day my son and I were with her but weren’t quick enough to catch her if you know what I mean. She cried but it hasn’t deterred her
I'd put the cushions from the couch on the floor anywhere she could fall but still keep taking her down and telling her now the cushions are just a back up incase she does it an your not watching xx @hawkie75
@sara-lou86, yeah that’s what I’m thinking she just thinks it’s a game and laughs, I’m demented lol
Just have to keep telling her, take her off when she's running and say no. If I was going to be away more than a minute of encourage Max to come and play with something. Otherwise it will just take time or an accident. She'll soon learn!
@hawkie75, mine never learnt from haven accidents she still done the same damn thing 🙈, it’s kids for you, I understand you can’t always be with her, it’s what all us mums are like, just put cushions down and I wouldn’t worry, she’ll learn in time that she’ll fall etc and will stop doing it, hope it’s soon enough for you :) xx
