FIRST TIME MOM HERE
I just had my baby 4 Days ago and I'm not breast feeding. My boobs are SUPER sore and each boobs have 2 HUGE knots in them. What am I to do? I'm freaking out here. I have a breast pump but I was told not to use it even to pump and dump only because I'm not breast feeding and I don't want the milk to continue to build up. I was also told not to run warm water on them. ANY SUGGESTIONS???

@mommykai yeah I was told not to use hot or warm water. I'm thinking about using ice packs maybe that will help
Hot water will make your boobs hard as a brick and they’ll definitely leak. Try cold compress and a tight fitted bra
I took a hot shower and felt a pop and milk just ran out my boobies.
Express enough to relieve the pain, and put cabbage in your bra.
Cold compress if you dont plan to breastfeed. Pumping will cause more milk which will keep producing
I just took warm showers. I did breastfeed for about a week though. Once I stopped, i leaked like crazy and had the knots as well that were painful. They eventually just went away and I stopped leaking.
Hand express enough to relieve, warm compress/shower, massage breasts, but don’t make a habit out of it. Even those will demand your body to make more milk, if you get a fever, pain and knots worsen, go to the ER.
Quick question to breast feeding mum i would like to breast feed my baby when she comes as I’ve never really breast fed my other 2, is it uncomfortable also how is pumping out milk????? For bottle feeds is the pump uncomfortable... I would normally just breast feed and not pump when home but I do drive so when I’m out and can’t stop I’ll have to use a bottle...I remember trying to breast feed my youngest and I keeped getting milk ducts why was that??? I think that’s why I gave up as I was scared...
Breast Feeding With Piercings...
I have my nipples pierced. But I want to know if I can still breast feed with them in. I know I have to take them out while breast feeding. But if I can't, I'll try to do pumping for him. But if all fails, I'll be having to give him formula. I don't want to give him formula, but if I have to, I will.

opinions about breast feeding while pregnant. the receptionist at my OB told me while making my appointment to start getting her off of the boob, because breast feeding causes your uterus to contract and can cause a miscarriage or preterm labor. any ladies breast feed your LO while pregnant and should I believe the receptionist?? my baby just turned 3 months on the 23rd .I give her breast and formula sometimes. any advice is appreciated👍
Trying to get a breast pump through my insurance feels about impossible 😣
United health care is awful. I have a prescription for a pump, but they're seriously making me jump through hoops. My insurance will cover a non medical gender test no questions asked, but try and order a pump to feed my kid, and they act like I'm asking for $10,000!!
I'm determined to get this pump for free. If not, guess we will have no choice but to buy one 😡
@jiya I imagine it's only temporary. Plus cabbage doesn't have too much of a smell until you cook it so maybe it won't be too bad haha
