Is there a lactation nurse on here? Does lemongrass tea increase breastmilk supply? And also what can I drink to increase my breastmilk production?
Fennel seeds and plenty of water worked for me. I've been nursing six months strong and I put it in my tea most mornings.
@anthonysmommie072816 Well remember you want baby to have the most recent milk. Having an oversupply causes more problema then it helps believe me. If and when you pump make sure baby always gets fresh milk. 🤷
@beemommyof3, see last year I was pumping 8+ oz from each breast every 2 hours
@mama_kat89 Heck yeah. My boobs dont feel like nothing but at work im pumping 8oz
@mama_kat89, oh he has those plus I get peed on every other diaper change lol
@mama_kat89, yes my let downs hurt like a mf and it just stopped like a few days ago but baby still has wet and dirty diapers and He drinks to the point he’s puking from being full
Well keep doing it and dont worry. Your supply is fine. We all have an oversupply in the beginning. You dont need any more. As long as you maintain and continue to feed baby normally and pump for missed feedings you will do great.
@beemommyof3, yea see I started off with so much this time around but I guess my supply regulated itself which is cool but the first time I dried up and I don’t want that to happen so I just wanna keep my supply up but Everything u telling me I’m already doing
Every nursing experience isnt the same unfortunatley. Mine were all different. I have an oversupply this time around and before I didnt.
@beemommyof3, for me it does because I’m use to having an over supply of milk
Full breasts dont indication a huge supply. Mine stopped feeling full a while ago and i still can get a bunch of milk
You should be every 2 hours right now for 6 weeks. Why do you feel you need an increase
@beemommyof3, oh okay well I’m pretty much doing that already
@mama_kat89, yea I do that already I just wanted to know ways to increase it I like the feeling of having full breast like I did with my first son.
Really dont need any specific food or lots of hydration. Just drink and eat to thirst. Increase calories to about 500 additional so you dont feel lightheaded or sick and nurse consistently.
@beemommyof3, I feed on demand for the most part I don’t pump
supply and demand increases supply. Supplements can cause a decrease and cause gi issues in the newborn as well as you. Are you nursing or pumping every 2 hours?
