I had no job because i stayed home with kids when me and my older kids father divorced and went to child support court, but because they were always with me i got custody and got a job quick. I was a single mom working and doing my own for 8 years before i met my youngest kid dad.

Go to court first and file , that way u have the upper hand and say what u want. And dont let him have the kid until it happens. At this point no one has custody. If the kid is in his custody when he files he is allowed to keep him until the court day when they decide who gets custody. Have proof of his mishaps, real proof. Ask for the maximum put of him so u know youre child is taken care of. He trying to fuck u so no use being nice. U will get custody tho, they rarely give dads custody unless there is proof of alcohol or drug problem on yourself and make sure u stay clean of everything

He can go to court and fight for custody but as long as you can prove he’s an unfit parent they won’t give him custody. It’s a process but obviously they’ll look into what will be in the best interest of the child, who has a stable job, whose been providing etc etc.
