I don't think their is a right or wrong answer. I say both waiting and back to back has pros and cons. I waited 5 years before thinking if another one. For financial reasons.. Then I started over again 12yrs later 😂. Remarried and my older kids help tons and hubby so I have it pretty good 🤗. All my kids had me to themselves as babies so no jealously etc.. Like I said just my experience and honestly it's basically when your womb is blessed.

I think 2-3 Years is good. That way you are kind of going through life stages at a similar time. For example,

Diapers... you get a constant diapering phase so when one is potty training your next is in diapers. Then when all the kids are potty trained your done but if you wait like 5 Years then you have not had to do diapers for a while and will have to get back into it. Lol
