yes @mikaylanichol101 is right... I applied early and they said at 8 weeks before my due date i would start getting payments although i wasn't working for a while/just moved to new province... but you do need your ROE um.. doctors note helps too (just extra thing/they asked if i got one to stop working/didn't quit)
I live in Edmonton as well and you can apply for EI before you’re done work. You’ll need to indicate your last day of work and your employer should have submitted your ROE to revenue Canada. After applying, there’s about a 2 week waiting period (after your last day) before you can get paid.
