This is for the mothers who breastfeed I need some advice I plan on breastfeeding but I'm not sure how well it's gonna work out because in 2011 I had my son and I tried to breastfeed he wouldn't latch a few days later my body went into kidney failure I wasn't able to breastfeed due to all the medication I was on now I'm pregnant again and I'll be having my second son in May I hope to be able to breastfeed this time. I need to know what to expect and did it hurt? What if I don't produce enough? What if this baby doesn't latch? I'm excited and nervous. Inside I'm freaking out a little bit.

My advice is to stick with it. The first couple of days are the hardest and I was ready to quit. But by the 4th day it was so much easier. And like Crystal said get as much boob in as possible. If your baby is just sucking on the end of the nipple it’s gonna hurt a lot worse. You’ll do great !!

I tried to breastfeed my son and he wouldn't latch well either so I tried pumping but my milk made him sick. I ended up formula feeding him. So I was super worried with my girl but she latched like a pro and I've had no difficulties with supply either. The first week is a bit painful, at least for me but it gets easier. Good luck!

The biggest and best tip I learned was you have to shove a lot of booby in the baby’s mouth. Like as much of the whole nipple, areola, and a little more for them to latch. It does hurt the first go around and you uterus will contract which is not comfortable but if you’re a patient momma you will eventually succeed. Try to breast feed as much as you can and only pump when you really really need to. As far as not producing enough some moms have that issue and it’s a condition but usually can be avoided if the mom nurses enough. If not try lactation cookies and teas. They helped me. Make sure to have plenty of nipple pads and nipple cream. Nipple cream is also safe for baby to consume so you don’t have to wipe it off but I always did. Always stay hydrated and nourished. YOU MUST EAT AND DRINK. You will not produce enough if there’s nothing to go in the milk. Speaking of milk, whatever you eat is basically what the baby eats. So if you’ve eaten something gassy good chance baby might get gassy. And just because you’re breastfeeding and feel hungry and thirsty does not mean over indulge. If you’d like to continue to lose your baby weight which you will with breast feeding you have to eat right. Also nursing babies have to take a vitamin D supplement so don’t be surprised if a nurse walks in and says you have to give this to baby once a day and hands you a little bottle of liquid vitamin D. I also recommend a nursing tank top and wearing a flannel or easy access button up over the tank top. It’s helps a lot during those very often nightly feedings. Simply open your shirt and unclip the tank top and boom. Eat eat time.

This is my first time breastfeeding and I don't think I would have made it to almost two months(my son will be two months on the 15th) without pestering then with questions 😂

There is a breastfeeding group I can add you to if you'd like, they are great at answering questions and they know what's a myth and what's the truth. They are very helpful!

Get a nipple shield for the latch issue. The more you'll nurse, the more you'll make. You've got 20 weeks to research mama, don't fret about it all this second
