Hi everyone! My name is Viclyanne, I have a year & five month old son. He's my world! I'll be talking about the everyday life of kids with learning disabilities. The barriers of having kids with disabilities, and the aspects of the everyday life.

• be a good listener
• understand what is a disability
• ask for help
• make them feel they're not alone
• keep your sense of humor
• don't compare
• always support them no matter what
• most importantly, NEVER give up

@starienite, I know is very hard, it gets frustrating because we want to help our kids as much as we can. But it's hard & I understand. At home try to play with him different games for short periods, so he won't get frustrated. The chart will be a great idea, to keep track of his progress & for him to have a routine. Try to get his attention first, then start little by little with the reading. I hope this really helps you!
@mama.of.my.prince, well I in back seat in labor my water broke I can’t
@mrs.dreaya, I completely understand. My son has pFAS(part of the FASD spectrum), My aunt thinks if we just give him acres to run it’ll “cure him” uhh no. My son is super smart, but his daily struggles are tough.
@ayclobes2, I barely have friends or anyone to go to regarding my daughter.
@ayclobes2, same with my daughter about walking to school when they suppose to provide her a iep bus to pick her up. She’s been through 8 therapist already and has a new one Monday. I talked with my grandma due to her adopting my lil cousin who’s 16 now with the same thing as my daughter plus 3 other disabilities. My gma said my daughter is like her and no matter what we do it’s never good enough. My gma thinks she failed my cousin due to her being on probation & getting suspended within a day of my gma coming to Tulsa to get her medicine. I just hate getting bashed about it’s the parents fault or stop making excuses there’s nothing wrong with that child you just need to parent more. Like us parents are not trying are hardest.
@mrs.dreaya, I completely get it!! My son has been on a IEP since he was 3—in preschool. I push for everything at his IEP meetings. He has zero safety awareness for vehicles and they wanted him to walk a block from my daycare residence to his school without support. Mama don’t play that game 😌👌
@ayclobes2, yeah me being a teacher it’s complicated and tiring
@mrs.dreaya, I completely understand!! My oldest has adhd, learning disability and a permanent brain injury due to his birth moms poor choices during pregnancy. It’s hard, but keep on keeping on!!
@itsmely, do you have Pintrest? If you do, you can look me up. April Wallace and follow or check out my pins, I have stuff on sensory, fine motor, gross motor, financial aid, teaching activities... Tons of stuff.
@itsmely, what does your daily schedule visual look like? I tried doing one with pictures, but it was too big and ineffective.
@itsmely, I found a good site with free downloadable printables on how to create a sensory diet at home. It's www.sensory-processing-disorder.com. I found it on Pintrest and tons of other stuff.
@amommyofp, Thank you so much! Yes I will let you know. The more information & knowledge the better I can help him!
My daughter has a learning disability & adhd and I be ready to ship her off
@mama.of.my.prince, I'm a special education teacher if you ever need someone to ask questions to when your guy starts school or if you have questions about IEPs
@mama.of.my.prince my son has learning disability and he has ADHD since he was little and eplispy he got digonsed when he was and 6 years old he now a 11 year boy its hard with all three want to get him on his grade level but its hard we just had a meeting for school he approving but he still and a low grade level on learning and sometimes when he not on his meds for ADHD its hard because he picks on his siblings and talks back I dont like to give him his meds but sometimes I just have too
@amelliaholmes1457, there's different types of disabilities. But with my son, since he is deaf from one ear, I used to call his name & he didn't respond, he was very delayed with the crawling & very delayed with the walking. He wasn't talking a lot, so I decided to have him evaluated. Because not even the doctors noticed. So here he is with disabilities. Sometimes you notice, they stare more than usal, sometimes they are hyper, sometimes is hard for them to read to write. Most cases as a mom, you know.
@mama.of.my.prince how did you know your child or children a disability
@mama.of.my.prince, thank you Bc sometimes he jumps in his bed.
@damianmommy1017, what I do at bedtime is, I give him a bath, I try to have calm surroundings, read him a book. of course sometimes this doesn't work, I put him in his crib for short periods of time until he finally gets the idea that he needs to stay there. I stay in the room with him, to give him comfort!
@_texas_mom_, the peeing is the easiest part! The pooping will take time, sometimes when we changed up from diapers to undies they get confused. I know it gets busy, try to stay with one method.

@mama.of.my.prince, Right, that makes since. We usually do pull ups if we have a busy day and then normal undies if we don’t. Usually he’s good about peeing. But the poop is more of a struggle. 🤷🏼♀️ Then we just do diapers at night just in case.
@mama.of.my.prince, my son had a speech delay since two and has been in speech ever since. He also is a few grade levels behind in reading. He has recently been diagnosed with ADHD. It is very hard to see him struggle in school. I never wanted to put him on medication but it has gotten to a point that it is needed. We are hoping to see some improvement. Any suggestion as to what I can do at home as far as getting him to listen better and stay on task. I was thinking a behavior/chore chart. It is very hard to get him to read at home because he struggles.
@itsmely, Hi!! Sorry but I'm new to this, haven't found a good website yet. But as soon as I find one, I will be more than glad to share it with you!
@damianmommy1017, as a aunt you're doing a awesome job! Keep supporting the family in any way you can. Sometimes is hard for parents to understand & realize that they have a child with disabilities. Keep the support!
@_texas_mom_, at this point, my son is not interested on that yet. But I have experience with my brother & what we did was we used to put his diaper & a brief on top of it. So he started getting the idea that when he had the brief on, he had to go to the potty but at the same time with the diaper he didn't have no accidents so he wasn't discouraged from it.
@mama.of.my.prince, I also have a ten month old boy do u have any tips for that
@mama.of.my.prince, I will be having him the 14 to meet other kids Bc his parents don’t talk him out much
@damianmommy1017, actually that's a great idea!! It does works a lot, it helps him with frustration & for the fact of them communicating.
@mama.of.my.prince, awww! Poor little guy. One problem I’ve been having lately is with potty training. My son doesn’t quite understand the whole “I’m a big boy” idea. Do you have any ideas to help with that?
@_texas_mom_, Hi! I'm glad that he has improved! My son is deaf on his left ear. From that, he has speech problems, balancing problems, so it's hard for him to walk.
I have a nephew and he’s getting speech therapy but it kinda upset me my brother n his girl are not working with him n sign language would it be good if I tech him signed language he’s gonna be three

Yes I did speak with a medical doctor. Tell. Me. That. I. Can. Get. Pregnant. Been. Try. Since I was 25. Year-old. To. Get. Pregnant I have had 3 false pregnancy
@mama_kat89, wow that's amazing how can things changed with the right help! I'm very very happy to hear that! At the end of the day that's our main goal for them to get all the help they need!
Hi @mama.of.my.prince 👋🏻 My son has a speech delay. The medical term for it is Apraxia. (Brain waves aren’t strong enough to tell the jaw/tongue/lips to move certain ways to pronounce things.) But he has been in speech therapy and has improved. What disability does your son have?
@mama.of.my.prince at first when i put my son in pre k we just thought he had a speech problem. The teacher started telling me she was having a really hard time with him.
The school did its own evaluation. I also reached out for help from local services. The school decided he was a little behind and that he would fit better in a special class. After that i found out he has moderate autism. Personally i was hesitant about a special class. But since he has been switched since last year he is soaring. He can write his name and count past 30. He is tracing numbers and letters. Im beyond proud
@dee_fonseca, I felted the same way. Very scared, but very intimidated. By what others will say or what the overcome will be. My advise to you, be a advocate to your son. You're his mom, you know what help he needs, ask a lot of questions, never go home with a unanswered question. Sadly, we are in a world, where is hard for them but if we're there, it will be more comfortable for them. Try to get different views. I want you to know, you're not alone! As a mom, very proud for getting him the help.
@keonaennis06 we suggest you speak with a medical professional
@mama_kat89, i'm really happy to hear that! My son just started the Intervention program.
Im worried my son has a developmental disability. He is very sensory hypo and hypr and while he talks A LOT to close family and friends he gets scared to talk to others, especially other adults. @mama.of.my.prince, he says he isnt smart and that he doesnt play with the other kids at the park because they dont ask him. We have a neuro appt next month and a speech therapy eval. This world is brand new to me and it scares me to the core. I love my son and would do anything to help him. He is capable of talking to others but doesnt initiate and it takes a lot for him to respond to anyone outside his comfort zone. I have noticed him stimming a bit too. Overwhelmed mentally and emotionally. He is so affectionate i cant make any sense of it.
My son has autism and global development delay. Since starting special classes he has been doing so much better.
@ashleysemone, my son does as well, sometimes we feel alone but it's good to have people on your side.

Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...
