So not only do I have a problem with one boob being bigger then the other but now my daughter isn't latching on like she will put my nipple in her mouth but won't close her mouth on the nipple any advice.
@stellamadigan81,
Yeah breastfeeding can be extremely exhausting and complicated. Do you have WIC? If so they offer breastfeeding classes ! They give good tips. Also if you tell them your having sooo much trouble breastfeeding they will give you a free breast pump the really good ones! The electric pumps not the manual ones you have to pump with your hand. Well at least that what my WIC office offers. If you have medicaid you can also call them. Medicaid offers free breast pumps. Not to sure what the requirements are though.
@stacymartinez18 yea I have a breast pump when she wouldn't take the boob I had to give her breast milk in a bottle instead and she opens her mouth but won't latch on like she won't close her mouth even though the boob is in her mouth
If the baby absolutely doesn’t want to feed off the boob you can buy a Breast pump at Walmart. Trust me you don’t want a rock hard and extremely painful boob. That’s what. Can happen if your don’t pump or baby doesn’t feed.
The lactation doctor told me while I was in the hospital to rub the babies earlobe while the nipple is in their mouth. Could also use it to get them to open their mouth. Sure enough it works every time. It just triggers their mouth. It may not work for all babies. But hey you can give it try ! Also you can squeeze your nipple slightly to get a drop out and visible put it on the babies mouth/lips and allow them to taste. I could help to feed.
