I had preeclampsia with my last pregnancy, found at 38 weeks when I was in labor at the hospital. I'm currently 17 weeks, and have been on a low dose of aspirin since 12 weeks- my OB said they have everyone with a history of pre-e take it to lower the chances of getting it again. I've been feeling really dizzy/lightheaded the last couple of days, with random but sudden headaches that are really bad for a little while and then go away. I feel like my heart is racing. And my vision doesn't get blurry, more like, things I'm looking directly at get slightly brighter than their surroundings? I'm torn between calling my OB and waiting until my next appt, which is a week from today. I just feel f*cking weird, y'all.
@halifax6 I've done the 24 hr urine test. Boy was that fun😒
Headed in to see my OB in an hour. Called and *actually* got to talk to a nurse and she told me to come in.
@magickal_mama1418 thanks! As long as your BP stays normal, you shouldn't worry too much about preeclampsia. Have they done the 24 hr urine test? If you're going to just wait for your apt next week, I would just keep an eye out for, a headache that doesn't go away with tylenol or caffeine, blurry vision, ocular migraine, vision changes, heartburn that can't fixed with tums and sever pain in your upper right quadrant of your belly.
Good luck, I hope you feel better!
@halifax6 I guess you are ready!! I hope everything stays the way it ought to for you. No more complications or anything. Congrats on being so close to the end!
@magickal_mama1418 I get meds every 3 hrs, blood pressure checks with each dose, and labs done everyday. I was on strict bed rest until last Friday, and now I can get my own water! And walk, with a wheel chair, to the cafeteria supervised by a family /friend. Lol thankfully I'm being induced Thursday night, and hopefully I'll be out by next Tuesday. Lol I'm so ready to go home.
@halifax6 oh my god, I'm sorry😯 what are they doing for you? Like are there meds you're taking or are they just watching you like a hawk, or how does that work?
@magickal_mama1418 I totally get that. I came in for an ocular migraine @34 weeks, and I've been hospitalized ever since, so I definitely understand not wanting to go in. To go in for nothing or the cost, or time wasted. If you're really concerned, you should call. At least make a note of how exactly you feel and I'd it gets worse, then go in. (I have preexisting high blood pressure and developed preeclampsia, which is why I am hospitalized)
@halifax6 but on the other hand I don't feel that it's worth going to the emergency room over. I'm just nervous and trying not to let it develop into a panic attack.
@halifax6 I'm hesitant to call because they take so long to respond. It goes to voicemail most of the day, which I get, because they are at work, lol. But there are only 6 OB's in this town of about 28,000 people. So they're always swamped :/
@magickal_mama1418 I highly suggest at least calling or emailing your Dr to get their opinion, it's always better to be safe than sorry. The fact that your BP was normal is a very good sign, but it's always good to keep them posted! I hope you feel better!
@halifax6 I did yesterday and it was normal. I used my dad's bp monitor though, and he has hypertension so he has to take it with him when he leaves for work (he's out of town Monday-friday)
@halifax6 will do, thank you.
