Can someone who wasn't induced tell me what it feels like when Labour starts vs Braxton hicks?

Braxton hicks are definitely not a patch on the real thing!

Labour pains are indescribable

You ll know when they begin!

Labour pains hurts a lot,braxton hicks are just uncomfortable mainly

Labour pains are more or less constant and they take your breath away.

Braxton hicks come and go and can hurt a little but are mainly uncomfortable

I had Braxton hicks a lot every evening tight tummy baby goes into a hard ball then it relaxes and does it again ....then the Braxton hicks changed patterns then a few days later I had them again but at the top and bottom of my bump the bottom part adventually got more painful and so they changed into labour xx

@laurenjaynebutcher, I had Braxton hicks from 17 weeks with my second and third pregnancies, they’re horrible but as long as they don’t develop a pattern or get too painful then it’s just your body preparing for Labour. Labour pains get more painful and last longer and become more regular. Braxton hicks are mainly tightenings where your bump will go hard and tight but should get worse each time or get more regular x

@haribo83 ok, I'm still not 100% sure but I think it's just BH, very painful over 1 hour and 40 mins so Far, I'm going to have a bath and hope that settles them. I was laid down resting when they started, I've driven and moved around a bunch since and it's hasn't stopped them yet x

@laurenjaynebutcher, you been drinking plenty? Dehydration can make them worse x

@haribo83 yeah I have a 2l bottle of water with my currently, already been through 1 and a half today x

@srose1989 if I'm having to ask what the difference is then that kinda proves that I may not know. I know what small pains are, but I couldn't tell you if what I'm having now is Labour or not, hence why I'm asking.

@laurenjaynebutcher, if you’re concerned they’ve been going on too long then call maternity and they’ll hook u up to monitor and check nothing is cracking off. I had to do it once or twice with my second baby as I used to get well intense ones that lasted ages. I’m sure they say you shouldn’t be having more than 4 in a hour x

@haribo83 that's what I read too when I tried googling in, I've had over 12 so far that I recorded down, and had more before then that I didn't x

I got bad braxton hicks.... they can be vsry uncomfortable and a little painful.... somtimes the only think that would help them ease off would be for me to have a sleep then i think my body would relax and they'd calm down.

Labour pains are differnt.. like an intense severe period pain.x

How are you doing? Your not supposed to have more than 8 BH contractions in an hour if u are call up and get checked out ...keep hydrated aswell they made me down a bottle of water because my son's heart rate was slowing down xxx @laurenjaynebutcher

I got ALPT of Braxton hicks. They are uncomfortable or even painful but they stagger. You could get one after 5 minutes then not have one for half hour and they last all different times.. I was in a Chinese rerestaurant refusing to belive they was real contractions (5 weeks earl but they was regular every 4 minutes and getting stronger I then contemplated going home to bed 😂😂 my friend was like no Leah u need to go hospital so walked over five minutes later I was on the floor haha made it to hosp, midwife put me on macheine and said dobt think they r real contractions must be an infection causing Braxton hicks, 45 minutes later dr examined me I was 5 cm and takeb straight in for an emergency c section coz she was breech. Sitting the space of two hiurs is gone from having lubch with a friend to having a baby 😱😱😱
