Those of you with toddlers and cats, how the hell do you get them to leave the bloody cats alone 😫 I’m at my mums, these are just some of the millions of scratches the cat has given Charlie because he’s constantly grabbing him and trying to cuddle him, he’s just completely sobbed over a fresh scratch and 10 seconds later still picked the cat up! I’ve shouted, ive repeatedly told him to leave the cat, put him in the naughty step. Everything, he just won’t leave the stupid cat alone and the cat constantly comes back after I put him in another room 🙄

I've started time outs with Max. Sometimes it works haha.

Thankfully my cat never did scratch Maya...he put up with a lot from her. And when he had enough..he made it his own business to leave the room etc :) I would tell her no..distract her with something else etc :) Think kids just love animals lol! Xx

@sara-lou86, how would you enforce time out with him? With the naughty step I give him a warning and tell him no, one more time and you’ll go on the naughty step and usually he stops with anything else, but with the cat he doesn’t listen! So I’ll take him to the naughty step, sit him down and tell him why he’s on there. Let him have his tantrum out then after his time I’ll ask for a cuddle..

@winterbaby95, it’s difficult because the cat isn’t maliciously goingto scratch him, it’s when he’s trying to get down and Charlie won’t quit he’s using his claws to try and climb out of his arms. And the other difficult part is that Charlie ain’t being nasty to the cat, he’s just trying to cuddle him but he’s too rough about it! Ugh be glad to go back to normality when I don’t have to deal with this 😂

That's pretty much it to be honest. Their still young & will do these things over & over for a while. Time outs didn't have much affect of Morgan until he was over 2. But seems to get Max thinking a little lol
