I have an 18 month old little girl. A bit of background information I moved to Nottingham to be with my partner when his mum died. We bought a house together and when I fell pregnant i decided it was best I moved back to Manchester. So my partner stayed in Nottingham whilst he sold the house and I moved into my parents. It took a lot longer than planned so when she was born he moved into my parents with me full time and we dealt with the move remotely. So my LG lived with my mum and dad till she was 7 months old. Now we see my mum and dad at least 4/5 times a week. Over the last few weeks she's having really severe separation anxiety when leaving my mum's. She goes to a childminder 3x a week but in the evenings we go over for tea etc. She literally is attached to her like glue where ever my mum goes Poppy has to go. She's gone through these stages with me and her dad but it's so severe with my mum she won't even sleep she just cries for her.
Has anyone got any tips on how to ease this? Im desperate for sleep!

Maybe give her one of your mum's tops with a splash of her scent/perfume on it could help xx

@erincharlie1226 I've just showed her a picture of my mum and she's been pointing at it crying saying 'nanna, nanna' ..I was going to ask mum for a jumper she could sleep with. I wear the same perfume as my mum and I've tried spraying her comforter. It starts from the second I put her in the car and my mum's out of sight xx

Do you plan on her seeing your mum 4/5 times a week for the foreseeable future? X @catherineln25

@chesscalouise2 yes hunny it's always been like that. I live 20 minutes from my childminder and she's 30 seconds away so I pretty much always go there for my tea once poppy has been at Mandys xx

Hi Catherine, your mom is obviously a security comfort to your daughter you lived with her for the first 7 months so naturally she has a close bond which is good but like you say it’s getting tricky with anxiety separation which I’m sure can cause distress on all parts. Have you considered dropping a day or 2 going round your parents so you don’t see them so much as it sounds as though and I’m not a professional here, but it sounds as though she needs so e space to establish a new routine maybe. Not saying forever but just so she can gain confidence without your mums presence always there maybe talk to your hea,th visitor it’s a tricky one is t it 😩
