Hey moms so I’ve been sick for the past week, with a low fever, chills and coughing up mucus but tonight I noticed some blood in my mucus. I’ve been tested for the flu and I’ve had my lungs listened to and everything was fine no flu & no pneumonia. But was told I do have respiratory infection, can the blood be serious for me and my baby? Should I go back to ER and be examined again ?

Blood could either be from dry air, coughing too much or blowing your nose too much. I wouldn't worry

I wouldn’t worry about a trace amount of blood... but if it’s every time or a lot of it, that can’t be good. You probably need an antibiotic for infection. Hope you feel better soon.
