I tried little man with some potatoes and carrot last night however when he puts it in his mouth he heaves and out comes loads of clear thick sick....what am I doing wrong

@erincharlie1226 By normal potatoes, I mean spuds instead of like sweet potato. If he wasn't swallowing maybe it was consistency?
@celinad thankyou for that info I might leave off the potatoes until later on n stick to the fruit n veggies! He hasn't had them before. What are normal potatoes 🙈 he had had reflux problems and allergies so could be the reason. Although he hadn't even swallowed it he just put in his mouth heaved and was sick :/ must be my cooking haha xxx
Has your little man had potato before? If it was first time it may be that the upset is due to too much starch? Maybe keep back normal potato until he's a little older if the issues carries on.
I only mention it because when I was weaning my boy, potato caused him terrible gastric problems and the health visitor said about starch being too much for some to handle as early weaning food
Yeah... also.. sweet potato peel them.. slice them and put them on a tray in the oven for 25-30 mins until soft and give him them.
A nurse told me a tip.. look on the back of satches he likes look at the ingredients and just make them yourself.

@laurabump27 Thankyou I will try it your way today for his lunch. I did let him feed himself but I had cubed the carrot and mashed the potatoes perhaps he might prefer them whole. Thankyou for the tips really appreciate it! Il let u know how it goes xxx
@erincharlie1226 why dont u steam some carrots cut them length ways and let him feed himself..
I know your worried about choking so am i.. but if ther soft it will break up easy in his mouth and he might enjoy feeding himself more.
What i do is.. try everything myself first and see how easy its broken down in my own mouth so i know hes not gonna get into any trouble xxx
@laurabump27 he's had purees and baby rice since 4months so thought he'd be ready as he tries to take our food literally starring at it crying trying to get it off my plate ECT and not interested in his milk as much xx

My SO has been rude a lot ever since I've gotten pregnant...he said he doesn't care about my pregnancy, he doesn't even take one day off from work just ONE to come to at least one ultra sound appointment. @celinad oh I see sorry me being stupid! I did boil up a normal spud and mashed it up for him so it could be the texture/consistency of it. I'm going to give him a carrot in a mo without the potatoes to see if that makes a difference xx
